Dr. Donald Edward Lamarche JR., MD

I thought Dr. LeMarche was excellent, especially since he listens intently after he ask about your symptoms and experiences with a stroke. He is courteous, professional and gives you as much time as you need to completely understand the medical issues.

This doctor was so obnoxiously rude to me when I went in. He made me feel like a joke or crazy like I didn't know what I was talking about. He repeatedly laughed in my face. He bashed my PCP stating he doesn't know what he is talking about and he must have looked up his information online. He told me that I'm a hypochondriac and there's nothing wrong with me EVEN THOUGH I showed him the CT Scan showing a have an anachoid cyst in my middle brain fossa. He wrote me about five prescriptions to take, and sent me on my way. I went into the discharge room to pay for the visit and the receptionist seemed loopy like she was high or drunk. This place is A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!! DO NOT go here.

I really like Dr. Lamarche and his staff. He takes the time to talk with me and catch up on what has been going on in my day to day life and activities. He does not try to push medicines on me and I appreciate that.

Started seeing the nurse would not let me make an apt with doctor, told me I had to stick with the nurse.

Dr. LeMarche needs training in being a knowledgeable doctor. Dr. LeMarche misdiagnosed me. I went to an appointment to see a highly recommended Neurosurgeon, who diagnosed me correctly because he did Not miss something on my MRI which Dr. LeMarche missed. Every time I went to an appointment with Dr. LeMarche he was so narcissistic that it apparently more important to talk about himself then my health.

As stated in another review, I was examined in Dr. Lamarche's office....which I found odd considering he is checking your reflexes and being on a table is more appropriate. I started having seizures at age 30. The first seizure happened while I was driving. It was a full generalized tonic clonic seizure, or what many would call a "grand mal". I was seeing another neurologist that I was not really happy with, so I chose to try Dr. Lamarche. He kept my medications the same at first, but over time we found that this was not just a random event. More seizures followed and medical intervention was needed because I had the most intense headaches and started having other types of seizures called "absence seizures" or "petit mal", which are a type of "staring" seizure and partial onset seizures. which last about 2 minutes and the patient stays conscious. After I was stabilized on the medications, he referred me to his nurse practitioner, Barbara Bishop. She is very loud, assertive and is… always trying to change my medication when it is working fine. I feel like all she wants to do is argue with me when I have an appointment or need a refill. I am currently in the process of leaving this office because recently I had to file for disability and Ms. Bishop refused to fill out the necessary paperwork sent over by my attorney. She told me if I wanted it done, I would need to pay a co-pay and come in AND then pay her another $150.00. My attorney would pay the necessary fees but I refused to pay the copays and additional $150.00, that is ridiculous. So, I requested a copy of my records and that would have to suffice. I was appalled when I requested my records from Dr. Lamarche's office and read in the doctor's notes that my condition could be psychosomatic because he thought that I was a distraught young woman. If this is what he thought, why was he prescribing high doses of anti-epileptic medication? Why did I have copies of abnormal EEG's? He was the 2nd neurologist that I had seen, so he did not diagnose me, I knew that I was epileptic, because I had been in the hospital more times than I can count for violent seizures that had left me unconscious for long periods of time. This is not a good doctor. Barbara Bishop is not a good choice either. Please beware....also....I was awarded disability, so obviously...they government believes in my neurological problems by looking at the notes from my other doctors!

I would never recommend!!! Just like the other reviewer stated, Dr. Lamarche provided inaccurate and just extremely wrong information to my primary doctor. The only reason I know is because I requested my records. Maybe the reviewer that loves the fact he asks all the questions himself should look at her record, it's probably full of inaccuracies. UNTRUSTWORTHY DOCTOR

I am amazed that someone would try to claim patients who reviewed Dr. LeMarche poorly don't know what they are talking about. While I acknowledge that some patients have a positive experience with Dr. LeMarche, I am not one of those patients. And, I would not presume to say someone else doesn't know what they are talking about just because their experience differs from mine. I have seen Dr. LeMarche, and quite frankly, although I did not complete a review on him, I did not have a positive experience. I did not feel he spent the time to explain things well. He did not address all of my symptoms related to why I went to him to begin with, and when I brought in a log of symptoms, he did not react well to it - in fact, he said it was "alot of information to go through". Given that it was a log of the symptoms he was suppose to be trying to diagnose and treat, I was not impressed this response. His post treatment assessment notes were filled with inaccuracies and contradicting… statements. He rated strength in a post-op extremity as greater than normal. My PT rates it as less than normal. I was not impressed with his bedside manner. His exams were performed while I was sitting in a chair in his office. After a test, he told me I definitely did not have what he thought initially, but his note says I do have a possible mild case. He told me my test results were normal. So, if I had not requested a copy of my records, I would not have been given this information at all. He put me on a medication for nerve pain without explaining which pain in my post op extremity he felt was nerve pain. He definitely needs to do a better job of explaining the treatment plan to his patients. In summary, he needs to focus on the patient that he is treating, pay attention to details and explain his diagnosis and plan for treatment!

I was very surprised (and a bit concerned) with the small amount of paperwork that was given to me to fill out regarding medical history, current medications, family health, etc. on my 1st visit. I was amazed when the Doctor walked into the waiting room, called my name and introduced himself. He brought me into his office and basically asked me (in his own words) all of the questions regarding my health concerns, medical history, current meds, etc. He listened. He took notes. He asked questions. Took his time to explain things thoroughly. Absolutely the best Dr. I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Dr. LaMarche is an excellent neurologist. He spends a lot of time with his patients. I don't know why he got such low scores, obviously these people who reviewed don't know what they are talking about. I have been seeing Dr. LaMarche for 10 years. He will even call you at home if something is wrong. He personally returns messages too. I think he is an excellent physician!
