Dr. Donald Richard Skog, MD

I used Dr. Skog as my pediatrician for my four children back in the '80's when I lived in NYC. He diagnosed my first baby with craniosynostosis whe he was two months old. We were terrified of course but I will be forever grateful to him for catching it quickly. Edward had corrective surgery at three months and is absolutely fine -- now 39 years old! Dr. Skog was always gentle, confident and very reassuring -- a wonderful pediatrician for a nervous first-time mother.

Years ago, I was a young mother with a newborn at New York Hospital. I will never forget how rude and callous Dr.Skog was to me. The nurses had failed to catch my daughter passing her first stool and they called Dr. Skog in to examine her. When he can into my room he said “You need a pediatrician?” I was just beginning to explain the situation with the phrase “Actually, I am not sure if I do...” at which point he said “Ok” turned on his heal and left. He never came back! To this day, the worst experience I have had with a pediatrician. I hope he has improved over the years.
