Dr. Donald K Szachowicz, MD

Dr. Shaczowicz was quick to dismiss any thoughts outside of his own. He was dishonest with his reasoning and refused to take the time to follow up when requested to. Very disappointing experience and would not recommend him to anyone.

I have read the negative comments on Dr. Szachowicz that were posted on this site and found them all inaccurate. My family and I have been seeing the doctor for the past 20 years and have found him thorough in his examination, professional in the way he handles his patients, caring, calm, and patient. He spends adequate time with his patients to ensure they understand the progress or lack of that's happening in their lives. He always allows time for a Q&A session, which is not the case with other physicians of his profession. Before I met Dr. Szachowicz, I was seeing another primary physician who would not discuss more than one health issue with me because she claimed that she only had 15 minutes to spend per patient and she kept looking at her watch while she was examining me. She told me I had to make an appointment for the other ailment I had. Those of you who gave Dr. Szachowicz poor ratings, would you rather have a doctor like the one I just described? Think about it. Some… doctors, I believe are in the profession to enrich themselves; Dr. Sza. is not in that category, in my estimation.

The wait time cam be long, but the Doctor is one of the best I have ever encountered. He is caring and professional.

I just turn 43, and had decided that it was time that I should start seeing a doctor for annual checkups. I also wanted to start a professional relationship with a doctor whom which I would carry throughout their career or my demise. After seeing some good reviews for Dr. Szachowicz, I thought I would give him a try. Scheduled an appointment for 1pm on a Friday. When I arrived there was no other patients waiting in the lobby. I was placed in a room after 30 minutes at which time my weight, height and blood pressure were taken. After another 30 minutes (most of which I could hear Dr. Szachowicz having a conversation with the patient he had spent the last hour with----a fishing buddy or friend?) I left the room and asked how much longer would I have to wait. I was told that he would be with me shortly. 15 minutes later I WALKED OUT. Very unprofessional!!!!!

He is quite pretentious. Some might be convinced from his pompous oration about how great he is, but I found he thinks more about himself than he does about medicine. But if you require frequent visits and have good insurance, he will love to see you for nice long visits that he can bill at full comprehensive service fees.

Good to know doctor's still care like Dr. Szachowicz did for me.
