Dr. Donald Paul Woodmansee, MD

Dr Woodmansee is a pathetic excuse for a doctor. I have Systemic Lupus and recently ran into some major trouble with a variety of food and environmental allergies. Allergies that I have never had an issues with in my life. It got to the point where I couldn't even breath, and no matter what I ate I would break out into hives, or my throat would swell the size of a wrestlers. I even started getting a blister like rash around my mouth. All classic signs of allergies , correct???? Well in the Kaiser world of nonfunctional medical care , apparently this is your fault and that you just need an antidepressant to dope you into a serotonin oblivion. I was finally refered to Dr. Woodmansee after changing my primary 4 times. He was nice in the beginning, and was eager to test me for asthma and send me to the ear nose and throat experts if my nasal swelling and ear infections did not stop. So I followed his protocol and purchased the nasal spray he wanted me to get, and even bought a HEPA… purifier. Six weeks went by and I was seeing no improvement, I even had vertigo for that whole time period because my ears were so inflamed. So I followed up Dr Woodmansee after the six were up and his attitude for helping me entirely changed. The beginning of the appointment started with him stating that me coming was a complete waste of time and that I can just contact him through KP.Org if I am still having issues. Mind you, I had a six week follow up with him, because he requested it and wanted to keep an eye on the swelling in my nose and ears. He then prescribed me another nasal spray and told me to take Allegra. I was now up to three nasal sprays at this point and when I asked him if this was safe, he snapped back " That there are worse people than me, and that he prescribes it to pregnant women all the time" Really??? You prescribe 3 different nasal sprays at once to pregnant women? Huh... He also went on to say you can get it over the counter, so it must be safe. Huh.... You can get lighter fluid, alcohol, and knives over the counter too, so that must mean they are safe too. I then tried to ask about moving forward with food allergy testing, and that if I should look into possible food sensitivity testing. He again snapped at me and proceeded to tell me that it is extremely expensive and there is no scientific basis behind it and that only " his type A" clients look into it " Huh...... He then went on to say that his patients that do the testing. say that the things that they came back sensitive for don't bother them. The fact that they are in the allergens office for allergies completely contradicts that statement. I then asked about allergy testing again and he said no. He then went on to state that he went through my blood and I only reacted to grass and that I should avoid gluten and grains. I am sorry doctor, but doesn't that fall into the category of a food sensitivity????? The very thing you tried to insult me for??? Also, what do you mean you went through my blood?? and why was I not given access or notified about these tests? He then tried to rush me out of the appointment and told me not to make a follow up unless I wanted to pay for no reason. I then stopped him and asked him to check my ears and nose. I could not even breath through my nose, and my ears were hurting so badly I could feel swelling in my neck. The whole point of the appointment was for him to check my ears and he was suppose to check them and refer me to ear nose and throat doctor if the swelling had not gone down. He had already made up his mind before he even saw me. It was making him angry that he had to even look, and after he looked he stated that there is still swelling and bubbles . He still did not send me to an ear nose and throat specialist after seeing the proof. That is just pathetic and how can you determine what a patient needs before they even walk in the room? How can you know a patients ears and nasal passage way are fine , if you wont even look in them??? Why are you even a doctor ? Seems like it was a complete waste of your own time.
