Dr. Donna C Sweets, DO

I'm 22, alive, and doing well today. So if that's not proof that you're child will be okay with dr. Sweets, then idk what is.

Dr. Sweets was so caring and understanding of my problems and we both agreed the surgery would be my best bet. She was great after surgery. I find her so easy to talk to unlike a lot of other physicians.

I spoke to Dr. Sweets because she was the doctor on call and I was very sick. This woman was short with me and acted as if my concerns were not warranted. Her responses and tone to my questions about my health seemed to be a bother to her. I will never seek help from this woman again.

Dr. Sweets is an absolutely fantastic physician! She was there for me every step of the way during the pregnancy and birth of our daughter. The evening of the birth there was a terrible snowstorm and she was so worried about us that she camped out at the hospital just for us to make sure she was there when we needed her. She gives true compassion at to all her patients and is a very caring and reasonable person. If you are maybe doing something that isnt healthful for the baby she will kindly and politelky recommend the right route to take. Through our pregnancy and labor she was the calm and soft strength that we needed through it all. I highly recommend her as a physician and general outstanding human being!

Dr. Sweets was my OB GYN in 2000 in Vincennes, IN. During a routine ultrasound at 24 weeks, the ultrasound tech found something wrong with my son's kidneys, noted it, and I never heard a word about it from Dr. Sweets. I have copies of the reports, and she signed off on them, but failed to mention it. I kept telling her something was wrong; she told me I was wrong. I went into labor and she told me I was constipated. In fact, she wouldn't even come to the hospital to check. After a night in the er, I went back to her office complaining of pain. Again, I was told it was irritable bowel syndrome. She did the exam, and i was 8 centimeters dilated with my son's feet coming out first. (I had been told just days before he was in the right position, although I knew this was not right). I had to have an emergency c-section. My son died two days later from polycycstic kidney disease. Dr. Sweets told me when I asked what was wrong with my baby that "babies were born with cancer everyday". She… blamed his death on me to hospital staff (my mom used to work there and knew them all well, so they told her). She said I had been exposed to "all sorts of things during pregnancy". One cannot be exposed to anything that causes this disease. My son had to be transported to Riley by ambulance, and because we had him at a local, unprepared hospital, his lungs were shredded by the adult ventilator they had to put him on. I never got to see him with his eyes open or hear him cry because she couldn't even determine whether or not I was in labor or had to use the restroom. She never called to check on me after I refused to make a follow up appointment. Her staff came to my son's funeral. She never said she was sorry for my loss, sorry she hadn't mentioned it earlier so i could have him at the appropriate facility, nothing. She was horrible to me during labor and during my hospital stay. This woman is a quack in my opinion and i would not trust my dog to give birth in her care. Please be careful, ladies. Some things you just cannot get back.
