Dr. Dora Obiajulu Chizea, MD

I did not see Dr. Chizea, but as a Walk- In, saw a wonderful nurse practitioner Kelsey Bivacca. I went here when I could not get into my PC doctor and knew I needed treatment for flu & did not want to spend a fortune @ ER! I misunderstood & thought this was an urgent care, but to my surprise it’s really a primary care that takes apts. & also receives Walk-In’s. After getting home & reading past reviews, thought I needed to do one, I usually don’t. Obviously by reviews, folks have not had the Millennium doctor experience! Yes, had to wait about an hour to be seen, but again I had no apt. The triage nurse took vitals, then shortly after I was put in an exam room, the nurse practitioner went through my past, medications I take, did an exam, etc. & was by no means in a hurry. The office was bright & clean, unlike where I’m presently at. My prescriptions were called into pharmacy, thus one being Tami-flu, which I figured I needed, & did not want to wait a day or two to get @ my regular dr.… Today I am feeling better, know it will still take a few days, but happy this office was available. Also, by staff, I did not encounter any rudeness, all were pleasant, again unlike where I go when they changed over to Millennium. Thank you for the treatment!

Very pleased with Dr. Chizea. She takes the time to listen and to explain. Very helpful and down to earth. Cons: Can be a long wait in her walk in clinic so make an appointment if you possibly can.

Dr. Chizea will patiently listen to your concerns till the cows come home.She will tell you to grab a seat beside her and go through and explain your bloodwork line by line. She doesn't believe in over medicating or testing. She has been my Dr. for at least 10 years. The only negative is, she gets behind quickly because she spends so much time with her patients. just make an early morning appointment

Dr. Chezia is a competent and extremely helpful doctor. She takes the time to thoroughly discuss blood work results and answered all my questions. She assured me and put my mind at ease regarding previous diagnoses, which had been false. All the staff were pleasant and accommodating to me. Prescription refills were taken care of immediately.

Dr. Chizea was very attentive to my concerns. Unlike many other physcians I have encountered, she was genuinely concerned, patient, and knowledgeable. My first visit was a positive experience.

Have used this walk in clinic twice first for myself in 2014. I think we also saw a PA. First visit I told the PA I thought I was dehydrated from taking a cruise 10 days prior. She agreed after I told her. Not good experience. Gave me steroids and told me to drink more liquids. In Florida for the winter of 2016. Husband got symptoms of a upper respiratory rather quickly. He just kept feeling worse each day and we noted fever. Why I am not sure but I guess desperation we went back to the walk-in clinic because it is the closest to us. PA told us we had influenza. No test. No real good work up. Gave me a anti-viral med and my husband amoxicillin. That was it. Three days later he was not better and was having difficulty breathing. Knew we had to do something else so I took him to the Punta Gorda ER. They took one look, took him right back to the triage, immediately did an x-ray and a test for influenza, He was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs. Breathing treatment,… much stronger antibiotic was given and they followed up with us by phone in 48 hours. I went back the next day and was diagnosed with Bronchitis. Appropriate meds given to me. Do not waste your time with the Walk-In clinic. I see where some reviews felt they were overcharged. Our experience was that they took our Medicare/Insurance Info and we paid nothing that day. I am now wondering if we will be getting bills in the mail very soon. I agree there is something "just not right" about this office set up.

Dr. Chizea's assistant, Mrs. Byrne (P.A.?) will often see you if you don't have an appointment. She has been very helpful to both me, and a Mom with advanced dementia.

I called there to report a arnp giving out meds or calling them in her name for non patients. They talked go me very rude ... I hope this place closes down !!!!!!!!

Most of the negative reviews were written several years ago. The people that complain about their insurance policy not covering the cost are incompetent. It is up to each individual to contact their insurance provider prior to the visit and ask if the facility and doctor are on their approved list. Dr. Chizea has been my GP for over 6 years and has diagnosed many problems that the specialist's missed. She never makes you feel like she is in a hurry to get you in and out and she makes certain you understand the test results and diagnoses. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope.
