She spent several years of pre and post graduate residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Childrens Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts as well as Maimonides Hospital, Kings County Hospital and Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.
Working her way up the ladder by treating medically compromised adults and children at the Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Center as well as serving on board the Floating Hospital for six years. During this period she worked in Gramercy Park, Manhattan as the main "Cosmetic Dentist" in a group of 12 Dentists where she still practices part-time. All of this while providing the highest care in her now 14 year old private practice.
As a published author, Dr. Doreen Amen is an attending doctor at Methodist Hospital in Park Slope, Brooklyn where …she teaches Pediatric Dentistry.

She has a natural and innate ability for sincerely communicating and cooperating with people in a very down to earth style that is uniquely her own. She is a gentle, kind and caring professional and has a personality that makes her patients feel at ease and comfortable in her hands.
