Dr. Doreen Telisak Marino, MD

Zero common sense. Lacks skills required to be a doctor. I saw her for 8 months and she nearly ended me because she misdiagnosed me and told me to continue medication I didn't need when it turned out the medication was causing all the issues I was having. I am a woman and thought a female doctor would listen, but boy was I wrong. She gaslights better than anyone while acting like you're not with her time. If it weren't for the UCSF ER, I would not be here to write this review. They figured out her mistake real quick. She couldn't even get my name right for the 8 months it took for her to run my body into the ground.

I was a patient of Dr. Marino’s for at least five years. She was never a warm or friendly person. Unfortunately she also turned out to be a terrible doctor. As time went by, she became less and less interested in actually trying to figure any problems out or to find solutions. Almost the whole office, including the other doctors practicing there, are also very unprofessional, unhelpful and rude. Dr. Marino just disappeared a few months ago and began having other doctors cover for her. I then received a letter saying that she was leaving the practice, supposedly in two weeks but in reality she was already long gone. She did not give any explanation. I don’t know if she is now giving up medicine altogether or if she’s planning to move somewhere new and practicing again. If she does set up practice again, I would strongly suggest you find a different doctor! She is not competent or qualified and should not be dealing with any patients ever!

I have been a patient of Dr. Marino's approximately three years. While she has the credentials to support her title, she is very aloof when dealing with patients. As others have said, she appears to want to be any other place than in the office. I've had some major medical issues over the years and when prompted she will dig in but usually just refers me out to a specialist.

I felt she addressed my issues appropriately and came back with honest and meaningful needs and answers to me. I have changed to her over the last year and my needs are met. As a long time medical person, she is up against a lot of changes that can deter her from attending like prior medicine was. The use of computer requirements has too much influence on this site's rating system. I am supporting her as I feel she is a very competent and experienced for 16 years physician!

Not incompetent but certainly not interested

I saw Dr. Marino for the first time today. Some of the reviews I read were pretty bad. Some great. I experienced Dr. Marino as a very competent, kind, respectful person. The office staff were good. So, don't listen to reviews. Go see for yourself. Thank you Dr. Marino and staff.

Office staff as well. Dr Moreno seems as though she’d rather be anywhere else. 45 mins late to her appointment and no acknowledgement or apology.

While Dr. Marino clearly has medical credentials, her ability to relate to patients, share information that is pertinent, discuss possible diagnosis and prognosis and general sensitive communication skills with patients does not exist. Her general response to anything is simply to refer the patient elsewhere rather than to try and problem solve. Her significant lack of empathy and willingness to communicate at all following a diagnosis is, quite frankly, reprehensible.

I tried to give Dr Marino’s cold bedside manner the benefit of the doubt. I’ve seen her several times. But I’m truth, Dr Marino can’t wait for you to leave her office. Unfriendly. Not inquisitive. How did she ever make it into practice?

I liked her. She was not in a hurry and just took care of business. I like that. Hope this continues. I have had the same Dr for many years but needed to change because of Hospital Preferences. She is with UCSF my Hospital Choice.
