Dr. Dorothy Lee Gillespie, MD

Dr. Dorothy Gillespie is the best, she always did wonders for me i were reccomended to her many years ago by my cousin and that were the best medical move u made, such a caring docter in every way and she wouldn't hurt her patients in no form or fashion she were like family to me, she were so caring. This lady went above and beyond for her patients in the office and at the hospital when ever she wasn't at her office she were at the hospital around the clock i never seen a dr. Visit their patients like her and the way she treated them like family. she kept me well with the experience and care she had for her patients. she were a work alholic i don't see how she had time for herself she went into medicine differently for the right reasons you can't say that about every doctor, i just loved her the hard work and dedication and how she cared

Dr. Gillespie was my doctor for 22yrs. During that time she was a caring individual. She listens and would refer me to other doctors who specialty was a help to me. She was my mother's primary physician and took care of her until her passing. I didn't discontinue seeing her because of anything she did medically, it was due to problems with my insurance. As an Internist and stomach doctor she was great. I would and have referred others to her.

shes a great D.r she understands, spends time with you and she will get to the bottom of what is going on with you. I'm going to hate to see her close her office down.

On my 1st visit I was unaware that I had high blood pressure. Dr. G gave me medicine to get it down. When that didn't work she gave me another to take with it. She also told me things to do that would help with the med. It came down n now I only need one med. I m 34 n had no idea how serious this could have been if she wouldn't have helped me get it under control. She is NOT A DRUG DEALER! She sincerely cares about her patients n does whatever she can to help get them healthy and improve their quality of life.

I like Dr. G...she's a great D.R and if there is something wrong with you, she won't stop til she finds out what's wrong and if you get put in the hospital, she is right there checking on you. But now we all have to find another D.R becuase D.R G has quit. Now what do we do?

Thanks Dr.Gillespie, After years of pain you did something amazing and found the cause of my pain and had it corrected by a fine surgeon.You were a god send to many. people say you're a drug dealer, well people say nasty things for many reasons who knows why? Thanks to you i feel more productive. H'burg should consider themselves blessed to have you the in the community.Again i say Thank You

Dr. Dorothy Gillespie is one of the best doctors I have ever known, even though I must admit, that was not my first impression. However, when my grandmother was ill and numerous doctors could not find out what was wrong with her, Dr. Dorothy Gillespie did. When she puts you in the hospital, she follows up and the people there know to follow her orders to the letter, because she will be personally checking on her patients. She came to the E.R. and my grandmother had soiled her clothes because she had been there so long. Dr. Gillespie cleaned my grandmother herself like a baby and I will never forget that. When my dad was sick and under a totally different doctor, I met her in the elevator because we were so confused and she took her own time to come to his room and look at his chart and give us her opinion. You will never find a more to the point, caring, and competent doctor ANYWHERE. I just hope Hattiesburg can keep such a high caliber doctor.

Dr. Gillespie is not a drug dealer, she is caring, compassionate doctor. You make it sound like you can walk in off the street and get hardcore narcotics like Opana, well that's far from the truth. You need extensive records and a legitimate, severe injury or terminal cancer to even be considered a pain management patient. Sounds like the person calling Dr. Gillespie a drug dealer probably has been cut off medication because they're a drug addict themselves or knows a close person that's a dope fiend that said they got a prescription from Gillespie. Remember, if she senses you have a problem with your medication, she will immediately send you to Pine Grove for treatment. She is very, very strict on who she writes narcotics for, you have to be practically on your death bed with terminal cancer!
