Dr. Dorothy Ann Izmirlian, DO

I have PTSD from the abuse I endured under this doctors care. Thankfully I sought care elsewhere and was able to fix my problem with a simple prescription. This doctor wanted to give me a full hysterectomy and said it couldn't be done laparoscopicly as they needed to "cut me open to go in a look to make sure there is no cancer". All of that despite my pap results showing no indicators of a problem. Her staff was equally abusive, rough, and cold. I had to ask them to leave the room after an exam so I could get dressed. They wanted to remain in the room and "just turn my back". There are so many other, and much better, treatment providers. Avoid this one at all costs.

She is the most calm Dr. I 'be ever been to. So interested in every question and comment.

Spot on great doctor. She prescribes correctly and is interested in you as a person, and someone who wants the best outcome for you. I appreciate that she is willing to listen to her patients.

Went in for hyperplasia, ovarian cyst and fibroids. I brought in my records from the last 2 years, and apparently she was reading the older ones because she insisted on doing a biopsy in her office rather than a d & c which was what should have happened. The biopsy was negative, yet when I asked about such a thick lining, she said it wasn't "that bad" and the cyst and fibroids were "tiny." I called the office later wanting to know if they had the right records because that didn't sound right. I was told that they copied everything, but some of it came out "too dark." I re-sent the latest report and was scheduled for another consult which could have been done over the phone but no doubt I will now have to pay for. We drove to have her tell me that the only answer was to have my uterus removed!! No trying hormones, not even testing them, no alternatives, just "when you get miserable enough, come back and see me and I'll take it out." I asked about alternatives and was flatly told none… would work! This is a relatively new set of issues for me (2 years)and was looking for help. There was absolutely no testing to find out why my hormones are out of balance! Uncaring and/or incompetence. In either case, I would not recommend. Did I mention that the exam room was filthy? (Dirt in the corners of the room)

I love this doctor, and her staff! I am appalled by reading the comment a few down, that is slander at its best. I am not sure if Dr Izmirlian knows this nasty comment is up or not but I am sure calling first thing in the morning to let her know!!!! Dr Izmirlian has been wonderful to me and my family for years....... I am in shock over that comment some people are so ugly....I hope she finds who you are whoever you other so called doctor is and she sues you for all your worth!

I have been a patient of Dr. Dot for quite some time and i love the staff. They make your appt. very comfortable and quick. Yes i recommend this office. I will never switch to a different Obgyn.

I have been coming to this physician for 4 years and ALL of her office staff have been amazing,,,,,,I would recommend her to anyone!!! The comment below seems like the writer is manic and just refuses to want to pay bills, anywho Dr Izmirlian and her staff helped when I had no insurance and her manager helped discount my entire bill to help me! I am never changing!!

I was a patient for over 10 years and, this year, I received the worst office service in my life. The Office Manager was rude and told me to find another doctor because she didn't like that I questioned my bill. She hung up on me twice. She started off sweet and when I began to ask questions, she went manic! I was so upset I requested my records be forwarded to another gyn. At that point, my new gyn told me that half the tests Dr. Izmirlian did were unnecessary. She did not record my menstrual cycles during pap smears. Then she found the paps irregular! However, they were consistent with findings when you take a pap during menstrual cycles! She almost had me on the operating table for something that wasn't even conclusive! My new gyn was appalled. She jumped to conclusions that didn't exist. She had in my record that I had something I didn't have. He even questioned whether she needed to do a surgery she performed on me back in 2001. So, in a way, the rude Office Manager… saved me from poor medical practices. I am very disappointed. Last - She would not give me test results over the phone and her staff insisted that I come in. Then they CHARGED me. Her Office Manager said: The doctor's time is not free. I said, "neither is mine." I refused to pay. I have never been charged for a doctor telling me the results of a test. This was a disgrace. The doctor and nursing staff are very nice and the office is clean, but the accuracy of her exams and overzealous testing are questionable. She should not allow paps during menstrual cycles, particularly if she fails to indicate your period on that day and does not recognize the normal irregularities that occur as a result. This is incompetence.

I have been a patient of Dr. I's for over 12 years. She was who delivered my daughter over 10 years ago as well. She has been easy to talk to, asks questions, and pushes you for better health (such as cholesterol tests, UV sun exposure, mammograms, etc.) She has always answered my questions and make talking to her easy.

Her staff went above and beyond to help me. She was very caring and took time to explain things to me. I will keep going to her till she quits.
