Dr. Dorothy A. Lewis, MD, FACS

I had Dr. Lewis as my surgeon, I don't feel she explained my conditional well. Felt she rushed my surgery and was not empathetic by any means. If you are looking for a good surgeon that does not seem to care how you feel then choose her. However, I would rather a great surgeon that listens and can sympathize with how you may be feeling after being told tragic news. Her staff is great but she has horrible bed side manners!!! I wish I wasn't so scared and would have found a surgeon that seemed to care how I felt!

I had more than 8 hernias in my upper stomach area. Dr Lewis performed the surgery to repair the hernias. Dr. Lewis was always very friendly, courteous and professional. She took the time to explain what to expect from my surgery. After surgery she was at the hospital and explained exact details of my surgery and answered all my questions about my recovery and healing procedure. I would highly recommend Dr. Lewis to anyone that needs surgery in her field of medicine.

Dr. Lewis performed a hernia repair on me in November. Everything about her is extremely professional. In regard to surgery, this was a great experience.

I met Dr. Lewis while in the hospital during an overnight stay. She examined me and we talked about the surgery. It was very easy to make appointments with her office. I did have a wait because I scheduled last minute and was fit in. I expected that and it was not an issue for me. I had two instances during recovery where I called. The first call, I spoke directly with Dr. Lewis. The second call, I spoke with her office, who contacted her for me and called back immediately. The follow up visit went very well. I was very comfortable with Dr. Lewis and would definitely use her again.

Dr. Dorothy Lewis is the worst Dr. I have ever had in my thirty years of dealing with cancer related problems. She appears to have little interest in my pain management ( I currently have a tumor the size of a greatfruit in my leg ) She doesn't listen to what I have to tell her concerning my pain or health concerns. After 3 months of having her as my health care provider, she still has not taken a biopsy to determine what type of cancer is growing in my leg, yet it continues to grow. If I end up losing my leg or my life over this, I feel she should face criminal charges and loose her license. I have decided to demand my medical files be transfered to another Dr. when I see her next week.
