Dr. Dorothy Smok, MD

I had been seeing Dr. Smok since I discovered I was pregnant. She was decent in the beginning, but as time went on, she started asking me inappropriate questions about my familial structure, to whom in which, many would agree, was discriminatory & invasive. Avoid her at all costs! Please anytime doing any complaints on doctors or staff, refer it to the Patients Care Services in the hospital & do it in writing!

I was seen by Dr Smok at 23 weeks pregnant when my original MFM doctor at CUMC was on vacation. Was a little apprehensive with a new doctor at first but Dr. Smok was very patient and had a very sincere and faithful conversation with my husband and I after our baby's last ultrasound. We truly thank her and her team's compassionate treatment and courtesy which have made a terrible medical experience much more manageable!

I first saw Dr. Stork through Maternal Fetal Medicine in Paramus, NJ. She was very helpful, explaining everything to my husband and me. Maternal Fetal Medicine is always very helpful and courteous as well. I look forward to seeing her again.I was incredibly disappointed with her staff in NY, however. When I called to ask questions about an insurance authorization I was surprisingly cut off and transferred without warning. A head nurse practitioner then picked up, immediately exhibiting an attitude. She answered my question by referring me elsewhere. But she was pretty short (rude) in doing so. That kind of demeanor would make me think twice about visiting Dr. Stork in that office. I never understand why some people choose to approach conversations with such an annoyed attitude.

Dr. Smok treated me while pregnant with my twins. Faced with a probable premature delivery, she and her NP were very caring and informative, helping us to make the best possible decisions. Despite arriving 8 weeks early, I and my daughters are now in perfect health thanks to Dr. Smok's treatment and careful monitoring of my situation.

Very thorough and detail oriented

She is supposed to be an expert in ultrasound. At 21 weeks, told us that I was dilated and my twins would be born within 24 hours. Next day, a high school education person doing the ultrasound showed Dr Smok she read the ultrasound wrong, to which Dr. Smok replied, Ooops, I made a mistake. That mistake, caused unnecessary hardship to a pregnant woman and caused my sister to develop heart problems. Stay away from the whole practice.
