Dr. Douglas Charles Allen, MD

I read all of the reviews and was a little hesitant but Dr. Allen was chosen for best Orthopedic Surgeon so I chose him . I am very very glad I did he fixed my meniscus and a chondroplasty on me . First off he was very knowledgeable and made me feel he knew exactly what was right for me . The day of surgery I was very very very nervous and he knew it he assured me I was going to be just fine and he out my fears at ease . I immediately had no pain in the outside of my knee and have been healing very good . I would tell anybody considering Dr. Allen to do it he’s the best ! Thanks Dr. Allen .

Dr. Allen did not perform surgery but saw my 70 year old father on several occasions during 2019 and 2020. During the most recent appointment, Dr. Allen said, "Oh, you again" as his greeting to my father. His aloof attitude implied that he was doing my father a favor by seeing him. When my father inquired if his pain could be related to nerves in the area, Dr. Allen said it was possible or "maybe you're having a heart attack." Considering his father died young of a heart attack, I found Dr. Allen's comments very disturbing. As a result, my father underwent unnecessary cardiac evaluations.

I wanted to look at his reviews before I scheduled an appointment. I'm very thankful for all the time you took to write reviews on this doctor. Your reviews have changed my mind to even make an appointment. I cannot tolerate arrogant prideful rude doctor.

Dr Allen was great, he did my meniscectomy with good results and has consulted me on other knee issues, he's always very attentive and understanding and willing to listen to my questions, he also clearly has my best interest in mind. Now that I need cartilage repair he did not hesitate to refer me to another doctor who specializes more in that area.

Have been seeing Dr. Allen for the last 8 months for a shoulder injury. Through his expert advice, patience and excellence in diagnosis of the problem my surgery was a complete success.

I recently saw Dr. Allen for my knee. He was professional, very nice and answered all my questions. If any of my friends or family members needed to be seen I would recommend him.

I must agree with the other female reviewer. I was treated the same way. Will not go back again he threaten me. And did nothing for but except spent 5 mins and when I asked him questions he got angry. Poor poor poor bedside manner.

Doug Allen was a jerk from the second he burst into the room. He had a rehearsed narrative to get through and I had better not interrupt him. He typified the arrogant doctor you hope you don't get - won't allow questions, belittles you (especially if you're a mere female) and is very in love with himself. He really is everything people hate in physicians. I'm sorry I wasted my time and will NEVER see him again.
