Dr. Douglas Anderson

        r. Anderson has been creating beautiful and technically excellent smiles since 1988. A native of Utah, his roots go back to the farm where early on he learned how to work hard as the 8th of 10 children.  The Anderson fences were the ‘straightest’ and sturdiest in the county and that eye for exactness and the value of a job well done has always been Dr. Anderson’s mantra. 
            Education was highly valued in the Anderson home.  After graduating as
Valedictorian from South Sevier High School, he moved on to BYU.  Taking two years out to serve a mission for his church, he graduated from BYU in 1982.  He went on to Dental School at Baylor in Dallas, Texas where he distinguished himself by graduating in 1986 with Second Highest Honors (cumulative 4-year GPA).   He then sought a place in an Orthodontic Residency Program (an opportunity offered mainly to those graduating in the top 1-5% of their dental school class) and chose to stay at …Baylor.  Immediately Dr. Anderson knew that he had found his passion—Orthodontics.  He completed the two-year curriculum in 1988 with a perfect 4.0 grade average and earned his Master Degree in Craniofacial Biology/Orthodontics.  He opened a practice in the Taylorsville/West Valley area in 1988 and then expanded his patient care to South Jordan in 1996. 
            Other honors, achievements and associations:  Inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Member of American Association of Orthodontists,  American Dental Association, Utah Association of Orthodontists, Utah Dental Society,  and Rocky Mountain Association of Orthodontists and the Northern Utah Orthodontic Study Group.  Dr. Anderson served as a member of the board for the Utah Association of Orthodontists for 6 years and served as President 2006-07.
            Dr. Anderson and his wife, Lorraine, reside in South Jordan and have four children.  Family hobbies include:  enjoying the mountains on ATV’s, having friends over for a swim and some great BBQ, attending concerts and plays, and traveling all over the world.  Dr. Anderson enjoys woodworking and has done some beautiful projects in their home and yard.
