Dr. Douglas R Jeffery, MD

I am a patient of Dr.Jeffery sinceFebuary8 2000.He has been treating myself for M.S.&Dr.Jeffery has seen me very bad phically&he has also caught myself in an angry issue&taking it out on him when he wasn't the problem,it was the M.S. Dr.Jeffery had reason to tell me to find another doctor but he Dr.J knew it was M.S.that was yelling&fussing,THANK GOD DR.JEFFERY didn't let me go. Dr Jeffery even wants to know how I am even if something else is the problem that nothing to do with my M.S. Dr.Jeffery lives what he PRACTICE.He does care &want a full walking energic life full of fun,laughter,&longevity!! THANK-YOU VERY MUCH DR.JEFFERY????

Having MS for 21 years and continuing to have a normal life is what Dr. Jeffrey has been able to provide by choosing the correct treatment plan for me. As a RN (former neuro nurse) I am impressed by the way he actually listens to what is happening with you and your body . He will order the test that are necessary to get to the root of the issue in order for you to be treated correctly. I am so very grateful that I was referred to him and he is part of my care team.

Dr. Jeffrey is a great doctor. He has been working with me to diagnose MS. I have all the symptoms and have been through all the tests, but no markers. He and I are convinced that I have MS yet to complicate everything I have had several neck and back surgeries so my pain /pain meds always have to be considered. I am seeing him today which is follow up to my last phase or stretch of MS symptoms. Ugh, gotta love the steroids. I am hoping he can start me on something to help prevent another onset of this horrible disease. New studies are showing that markers do not necessarily have to be present to prove MS. This was a study just completed at the Cleveland Clinic. Prayers and blessings to all going through or suffering with this horrible disease.....

TERRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNER & REFUSED TO BELIEVE I HAVE MS EVEN THOUGH MY OLD NEUROLOGIST DIAGNOSED ME WITH IT. THEN HE SAID "WELL IF YOUR LAST TEST, THE LUMBAR PUNCTURE SHOWS BANDING & YOU HAD BANDING YEARS AGO, THEN I WILL BELIEVE YOU HAVE MS. GUESS WHAT, HIS OFFICE CALLS SAYS MY BANDING SHOWS MS. SO I GO BACK AND HE SAYS I DON'T HAVE MS. I WASNT WALKING WELL ON MY APPT AND BEFORE HE COULD EVEN SEE ME HE DEMANDS I GO TO THE HOSPITAL. I LEFT CRYING. HE EVEN ACCUSED ME OF YELLING WHICH MY HUSBAND WAS RIGHT THERE AND SAID I NEVER YELLED WHICH I DIDNT! I WENT TO THE HOSPITAL AND THEY COULDNT BELIEVE WHAT THEY WERE HEARING. THEY THOUGHT I FOR SURE HAD MS AND COULDNT FIGURE OUT WHY THE DOCTOR WOULD SEND ME TO THE HOSPITAL, I QUIT HIM.

Has been treating my mother for 15 years and couldn’t be doing a better job. Always kind and always working to get her on the new treatments. He even checks in on her when she has a relapse.

I was refered to Dr. Jeffery by another neurologist who thought Dr. Jeffery would be a better match for my unique symptoms. I'm so glad I wound up going to him. He has been fantastic in every way.

awful bedside manner

My husband was diagnosed with MS in 1995 and we have been seeing Dr. Jeffery since that time. We live in Roanoke, VA and his office is a solid 2 1/2 hour drive one way, but he is the best in his field. Highly recommended!

Have been seeing him since I was diagnosed, thought things would be better after the move in to the new office, but was wrong. It seems he has a predestined plan for you before talking with you and doesn't really listen to your current problems, just adds another RX. Seems to have trouble keep up with the treatment plans he has set up and doesn't remember what you are on until he until you tell him. Very poor bedside manner and has the tendency to use foul language which is very unappreciated. My recommendation, look for another doctor, I know I am!

I have been seeing Dr. J ever since I was diagnosed 9 years ago. I have to drive almost 2 hours to get to his office but well worth the drive. I feel as if he listens and is an extreme help at me dealing with work issues. I would not change drs. for anything.
