Dr. Douglas Phillip Stevens, MD

Dr. Stevens was my Dr. for over a decade at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville Kentucky. However I first met him at Frazier Rehab after a spinal injury. Dr. Stevens is amazing. He listens intently and never lets you leave without being heard. He researches and gets you answers. If you are a patient that is compliant and very much involved in your own healing and recovery and read and research your conditions and how to heal, he is the perfect Dr. he took me from 400lbs in a wheelchair able to walk and ambulate 6-8ft at a time, to 230lbs and no longer wheel chair dependent. Although I will always need assistance from a cane or walker or even a chair at some times in my life, he gave me my life back. He would say he gave me the tools to get my life back but he was the difference. I literally feel like I owe him everything, so if you are considering going to see this Dr but need a review that compels you. Let this be it. This man is a gift from God above and truly cares. We will be forever thankful that Dr Stevens entered our lives at a difficult time. Over many years of medical need we learned that doctors are like artist, many are talented, others paint by numbers, but Dr Stevens is one of the masters.
