Dr. Douglas N Toussaint, DO

He does not listen to you when you talk. When I was delivering my daughter with him, he wouldn't tell me anything he was doing, and then the placenta you're supposed to wait because the body helps remove it. He just pulled it out because he was in a hurry, and I started hemorrhaging, and I later on had a lot of issues. He did the same thing to my niece.She almost died. When I had my second daughter i was scared. I had PTSD from the whole situation but the other doctor was patient and waited was a no rush and nothing bad happened. It was a smooth delivery. My first delivery, it was a nightmare, and if I was education in medical like I am now because I'm in the medical field., then I would have had his license, I would have sued this clinic. When Toussaint delivered, I was in the hospital for 9 days. When the other doctor delivered, I was in the hospital for 2. That's telling you something. Especially when they were both natural births, not cesarians.

I recently wrote the poor review on 11/07/2023. I will say contact was made by the doctor and acknowledged and is attempting to make right the issue involved. Will update and give another review in the near future. I upped my review to 3 stars for now due to the fact he acknowledged an issue and responded, personally, with options for care moving forward.

This man used to be a good doctor. Not anymore. He is probably ok for paps or delivering babies but, anything uncommon or serious, he is horrible, no answers and sends referrals just to turn around and cancel. He did a serious procedure without numbing, causing blood curdling screaming. Then, his nurse lied and said "we cannot numb someone for this procedure". Guess what ? They are wrong. My adult child screamed & screamed that it hurt traumatically. Him & the nurse refused to stop and offer numbing, or a break of any kind. This clown does not need to be in business. I am furious and will attempt to do something about this.

Dr. Toussaint and all of the medical staff at Morris Hospital is incredibly amazing. I’m on my 3 pregnancy and Dr. Toussaint delivered my first 2. I’m hoping he can deliver this baby and future ones to come! He did and amazing job. Both of my kids were born with the umbilical cord wrapped around their neck. He stayed calm and delivered both babies safely and with ease. Thank you Dr. Toussaint and Morris Hospital for the amazing and continual hospitality. We love you all and look forward to our next visit/delivery very soon.

Dr toussaint was one of the 6 doctors I saw while pregnant. Out of all the doctors he was my top favorite! Very nice, informative, and made me feel very comfortable every time I was seen. My husband also commented about how professional he was and how easy it was to get along with him. I would recommend him to anyone.

I have been going to Dr.Toussaint for almost 20 years.He is a great Doctor.I was scared the first time as he is a a big guy,now I think of him as a big teddy bear he's a very sweet person.I respect his opinion as a Doctor and have been 4 pregnancies with him and his staff.And a few surgeries I have absolutely no complaints!

He was great to me and my wife. He was informative and personable. I would recommend him to anyone! I felt very comfortable with him delivering our child!

I already wrote a review about Setrini but this man helped in violating what should have been the joyous birth of my child. I informed their office that I had a history of sexual abuse and that I wanted only a female doctor...but I found out after waking up from my violently forced, general anesthesia c-section that he assisted Setrini after I was fully anesthetized, while I was completely naked and my husband barred from the OR-I'd love to know what was done to me that I still have such pain over 2 years later on the left side of my scar. Setrini was the one who was attending me, so why he was brought in is beyond me, unless she's so bad at her job she can't do it alone. Salt in the wound, he had the absolute NERVE to come into my room and LECTURE me about how women with birth plans always end up with c section. (I always called them preferences and made it clear that I was flexible and just wanted to be treated with dignity) He also jammed his foot even further in his mouth by saying… that 'birth isn't important' and "you're not really a parent until you've been to a PTA meeting" I know mothers of stillborn babies who would heartily disagree. He takes the cake for insensitivity, rudeness, and outright awful bedside manner. I'd give zero stars if only it wasn't an option. Beware this entire practice...they care nothing about mothers. Baby's health is important, but mothers are important too. I chose their office because Setrini was the only female OB in town and my insurance covered it but I should have went with my gut-Toussaint Obstetrics is a nightmare and I will NEVER forget what a horrifying experience it was. Mothers beware!!
