Dr. Dov A Pickholtz, DO

I do not write reviews, but I am compelled to write one for Dr. Dov Pickholtz and his amazing office manager, Sharon. My husband and I found Dr. Dov Pickholtz through a referral. At the time, my husband was very ill and we had gone to several doctors. The only thing they all did was prescribe more meds and more surgeries. It is rare to find a doctor that actually is kind, compassionate and over the top brilliant. But we were blessed to have found that with Dr. Dov. When we walked into his office for the first time I knew we found a doctor that was going to help my husband in spite of the chronic serious medical challenges that he had. My husband was on 15 meds and he got rid of most of them the first visit. Every time he was in the hospital Dr. Dov was always there checking on him. He would often pull up a chair and with care and compassion have discussions about his medical conditions. Eventually my husband passed, but I know I was given an extra year of life with him because… of Dr. Dov. When you go for an appointment, you get as much time as you need. He answers questions with a kind heart. Dr. Pickholtz believes in a patient centric approach. If you need a specialist, he communicates with them, so everyone is on the same page. He is changing the paradigm of our health care system by truly caring for the health and well being of each of his patients. Additionally, a good doctor isn't very efficient without an amazing staff to support him. Sharon fills that role with confidence kindness and compassion. Together they are a team that works ! My husband was recently released from Delray Medical Center under the care of Dr. Pickholtz, A close family member who is a medical doctor did speak to Dr P once but never bothered to respond to two other calls later in the week. After 3 attempts for him to speak to me he called when my husband was being discharged telling me "they threw the kitchen sink at him" and that he would likely be wheel chaired bound for the rest of his life, He did not express any empathy for our problem and this was very disturbing, minimizing the pain our family has endured. Dr. P told me that he does not have time to speak to family while taking care of patients. He made a difficult time more stressful and did not live up to the standards to treat every patient and family with compassion and respect.

He takes the time necessary, is highly personal and intelligent, and would be an excellent choice for anyone - without question!

Dr Pickholtz is kind and compassionate, a great doctor

His negligence led to my mother's death. She came in with a chest problem and he gave her something for stomach ulcers never even listened to her chest. She died the next day from pneumonia and the flu.

I was referred to Dr. Pickholtz and have a very complicated medical history. I have seen hundreds of physicians as I am battling for my life in all areas. I have been searching for a physician in Florida who would recognize the severity of my debilitating disease, identify all the complications it can cause, and address all the other underlying conditions and diagnosis that I have been suffering with for over 20 years. I am a 100 percent handicapped person in need of care, but it must be the correct care or I do not stand a chance. After 1/3 of my life being homebound, I can honestly say that Dr. Pickholtz is going to be my physician forever. What I admired about him the most is his level of intelligence which shined through when he addressed his treatment plan for me, and his ability to communicate with me so openly. Not only is he intelligent, but he is informative, he spends time going over everything necessary and sets a plan in action. This is a team type operation as I… must do my part as the patient. Dr. Pickholtz has a unique style and a personality that makes you smile and forget about any negative events that have ever occurred and brings forth such an amazing amount of hope for the future. To me he is filled with positive energy which is so healing in itself. Dr. Pickholtz’s knowledge is based on his many years of education, research, his in-depth study of the treatment necessary to help manage, control, and hopefully help to cure my diseases, most of which are very serious. To me everything is possible, sometimes we just have to wait until we meet the right physician. A true Gift from Above. A physician, a healer. His front office manager is excellent, very professional, accommodating and she is very organized. She was the first point of contact, and her overall demeanor is delightful. All my questions were answered promptly and in such a kind and courteous manner. I highly recommend Dr. Pickholtz and can assure you that his latest knowledge in the best possible treatment for your case can be found if you work closely with him. Best of luck!

I feel very fortunate that I have Dr. Pickholtz as my internist and primary care physician. His office always returns my calls and scheduling appointments with him is very convenient. I would trust him with the care of my son or of my parents. He is a very sincere and professional doctor.

I was not happy with Dr Pickholtz. His office does not return calls. He prescribed a new medication and said to call him after a week to let him know how I was. He has not called back. I went to another doctor for tests that he requested and called about the prescription he changed and still no call. Blood work done and still not called. I finally told them to email it which they did, but he never had the courtesy to call and discuss the results. I have never experienced anything like this before. I will not go back.
