Dr. Amit R Patel, MD

Doctor Amit Patel and PA-C Ashley Heinaman performed ACDF surgery at level c56 and c7 t1 with great success! The pain level I was experiencing immediately prior to surgery was a four, immediately post surgery it dropped to a three and within 12 hours I was completely pain-free. I am now 5 weeks post-surgery absolutely pain-free!!

The appointment was ok but Dr Patel seemed to be in a hurry and distracted. He did a good job on my fusion surgery but after care is not as good.

I found Dr Patel to be empathetic and caring. I felt heard and hopeful. After my appointment I appreciate that he created a plan for answers for me.

Up until July I would have given Dr. Patel excellent reviews. But then he performed a large fusion going from my pelvis up to my T5-6, and there were serious complications that required 3 additional surgeries and ended with me in a wheelchair unable to walk. The prognosis is maybe a year of PT and I might walk again, but the pain is excruciating. Dr. Patel could barely stand to be in the room with me at my follow-up and what I realized is that he's great when outcomes are primal, but with complications he loses his ability to be anything more than surface level pole and pretty tone deaf. He actually told me that he wished he hadn't done my surgery! While I was sitting in his office in a wheelchair hopping for some guidance, he said I just needed to start walking... as if that wasn't the one thing I want more than anything in the world right now. Bottom line: a friendly, solid technician and great as long as everything goes well, but he's nit the best when dealing with less-… than-ideal outcomes. I'm very discouraged by my post surgical meeting with him.

Dr. Patel is a very caring and knowledgeable doctor. He takes the time to talk to his patients and explains what is happening to you that is causing the pain. He has performed surgery on my spine and relieved a lot of the pain I had. I have recommended him to several other people and would recommend him to anyone with back problems. Because he is such a good doctor, it is a little hard to get an appointment with him, but once you are there, you don't wait long to see him.

I only have good experiences with Dr. Patel and his staff. Had surgery January 2, 2025. Wonderful aftercare. Unfortunately other issues have cropped up an will need another surgery. I still have respect for him and he will be doing my second surgery.

I first met Dr. Patel for a 2nd opinion and that’s the best thing I ever did ! He found the problem right away, at that time. I have been his patient for 10 years now and he is very honest, patient, explains options, and just overall an excellent man and surgeon. My back is truly a “train wreck” and he has been very truthful and patient with me. Thank you Dr. Patel !!

Dr. Patel and his team provided me with expert-level diagnosis and treatment of my cervical disc issues. Thanks to Dr. Patel, I am now pain-free and able to resume my active lifestyle. Aside from his medical- surgical expertise, Dr. Patel is also someone who cares deeply about his patients by listening, responding to inquiries, and providing education on available treatment options.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Patel. He is a caring doctor and provided a range of treatment options, all of which he was willing to discuss in detail. He and the entire OSS staff make me feel like family.
