Dr. Anthony John Polcari, MD

I have worked with him on my kidney stone issues. My enlarged prostate issue, biopsy, now prostate cancer issue, and I don't think I could find a better doc. GREAT person, very informative on all aspects of courses of action. You won't go wrong with him. 10 STAR. I'm very glad to know him and have him as my doctor. I say he is a god sent.

Dr. Polcari was timely, prepared having reviewed my history and reason for referral, and was great to discuss first initial thoughts, which he and staff graciously encouraged my husband be engaged. After that Dr. Polcari respectfully did the exam and then made some recommendations for next-steps. Given the initial concern by my primary, bringing to this consult with Dr. Polcari, he understood the personal concern, so appointments to gather more specific diagnostic information was made quickly, and Dr. Polcari called the next day with findings and more recommendations. Being apprehensive going into the appointment, and traveling some distance to see him, based on my primary's recommendation, I found that Dr. Polcari's approach to be not only reassuring, keeping it in perspective, but one of collaboration with the patient and the patient's spouse. I feel that Dr. Polcari is an excellent doctor, diagnostician, respectful of patient and patient's family/spouse, and engages the patient in… every step of decision-making. Finally, things were explained in easy-to-understand terms. I highly recommend Dr. Polcari if in need of urology care.

I received an outstanding service from Dr. Policari that cannot go unrecognized. Although I have not met Dr. Ploicari before, when he went inside the exam room, he was very welcoming and I felt right away that I will be taken care of that day. He was very patient and clear in explaining to me my situation which needed an immediate surgery. I was hoping that he will have the time in the next day or so and he arranged for it. Normally after the word surgery is mentioned you start hesitating and you would want to take a second opinion somewhere else, especially in my case knowing that my procedure could be two steps due to a past experience. I did not feel the hesitation and before I walked out of the office I was already scheduled for a surgery within 24 hours. Before the procedure Dr. Policari came to talk to me and I could see that he was positive that things will go just fine. He did not make a commitment but I am sure he tried his best and by the end of the day I was recuperating in… my home. I am grateful to Dr. Policari and all the staff of Metro Urology. I also want to make sure that when patients rate doctors, they should do so based on their skills and services provided. Please do not give a bad rating because a doctor was late for an appointment. These folks are out there saving lives and treating us. Doctors focus on taking care of patients and their time management is irrelevant.

Dr. Policari was very thorough and kind as I faced a difficult challenge. We appreciate his describing the process I was going to endure and his patience and understanding.

Dr. Polcari is knowledgeable, up to date, and diligent. He has been deeply committed to providing me with the best possible medical care. He's an absolutely outstanding physician.
