My experience with Dr. McPhilamy has been terrific. He takes the time to listen and explain surgery and recovery expectations.

I have to admit that I haven’t walked this much since I was a teenager! It was a rough start after left knee replacement, but now just over a year later I’m doing quite well. I have a bit of a limp being the new knee surgery straightened my leg & it’s now longer than my other leg. Overall 14 months later I am walking more than ever.

Saw Dr. Mcphilamy at Bay Street Orthopedics. He performed my sons leg/ankle surgery after a devastaring football injury. We were very pleased with Dr. Mcphilamy's bed-side manor and his skills as a surgeon. My son healed beautifully and a full month ahead of schedule! Beware ask questions, many questions. I’m now 5/8” Off, hip & back pain now. A lift in my shoe is not N option. I need all my shoes built up now.

Dr. McPhilamy is an honest, straightforward and extremely knowledgeable surgeon. His skill is a true work of art. Trust him with your questions and concerns and let him guide you in the best direction possible. You will not be disappointed. He is definitely someone you should trust with your life and recovery. I was in a horrific near fatal accident in Northern Michigan and am fully healed because of him. There is no one I would’ve rather had operate on me! Thank you Dr., you’re an amazing surgeon and person. Anyone is blessed to be worked on by you. All of us are forever grateful!

This is my second hip replacement but this one was anterior procedure. If you need hip replacement read up on the anterior approach and consider Dr. McPhilamy....not even a bruise!

He was always in a rush, never listened to me and would get aggravated when I would try to explain how I was feeling. In the hospital before surgery he got so aggravated and mad when I was asking about being off work and he said this is the part he hates and he is a surgeon and this part makes him want to quit.....what the part of talking to patients and their lives and not just their bones!!!! He stormed out and I started crying, nice way to be calm before surgery! I try to only deal with his nurse because she is amazing and is so caring. If it wasn't for the initial emergency visit and surgery I never would have seen him!
