Dr. William Bartley Hosick, MD

Dr. Hosick body shamed me when I met with him for a consultation on knee replacements. I desperately need two knees because I am in 24/7 pain, stage 4 bone on bone. I cannot walk. He said I need to lose 35 lbs first. I told him that I am immobile due to my knees and he said, then you need to watch what you put in your mouth. I was crying, in total pain and he said there aren’t any other options. I left there wanting to jump out a window knowing it would take me at least 3 months to lose that much weight and could not bear the pain any longer. Thankfully, I have found a much better surgeon who agrees with Harvard studies, notes my knees are not fat and will do the surgery now. Hosick has a horrible bedside manner.

Been going to Dr. Hosick for many, many years for knee surgeries and double knee replacement. I have tried other doctors, but he is the most skilled.

When I finally had to have surgery for an old injury I met with three different surgeons. Dr. Hosick was the only one who wanted X-rays as well as the MRI disk. He also was the only one who gave me a straight forward expectation of final results and recovery time. I chose him to do the surgery and he exceeded his own predictions regarding final outcome. I returned to him a couple years later when my PCP suggested I see an orthopedic for unremitting pain in my thumb/wrist which didn't improve with steroids and topical treatments. Dr Hosick knew as soon as he felt my hand that I had arthritis in my thumb. We confirmed with an X-ray. We discussed surgery but he honestly informed me that it would be a very lengthy recovery and not in my best interests at the time. He gave me a script for an topical anti-inflammatory which has done well controlling the pain. I trust him to be honest and straight forward re surgery and/or alternative options.

I saw him to ask for an MRI. I was afraid I had torn my ACL after my knee gave out upon impact in a soccer game. He said, "You'd be in way more pain. Don't waste money on an MRI when the problem is you're not strong enough. Go play soccer this weekend; you'll be fine!" I focused on strength that whole winter. While my knee gave out less, it was still an issue. I saw another surgeon who did let me get an MRI. Turns out it was a completely torn ACL. If Dr. Hosick took me seriously, I would be fully recovered 9 months sooner.

Dr Hosick performed my frontal total hip replacement. I was so totally please. Hardly a scar. EXCELLENT care.

I'm in the process of getting a total knee replacement. He prepared me not only for what will happen during and immediately after surgery. But advise me on preparing prior to surgery

I read the review that spoke of poor bedside manner. Frankly, I am amazed that some people see this world the way they do. Dr. Hosick couldn't have been more courteous, informative, gentle, calming, and professional. The work he did with my full knee replacement was terrific. For any one reading this who is anxious about getting a knee replacement or anyone who is uncertain who is the best orthopedic surgeon let me put you at ease. Dr. Bartley Hosick is the best. Get the knee replaced, use Dr. Hosick....you will be glad you did.

knee surgery. He thought making my leg straight was the most important and I spent almost of my time in therapy was focused on that. Very little walking, etc. Weights put on leg for 8 hours Also in therapy the nurse spent most of the time pushing my knee while I was laying down. Can't walk without walker.

Dr. Hosicks bedside manner is terrible, he treats people in pain like they are faking..but best of all...His name showed up on "Ashley's list" when it was hacked..hahahahaha

I was scared about seeing the doctor about my knees. Dr Hosick was wonderful and comforting. I was very pleased and have sent others to him
