Dr. Brian Milton Patterson, MD

I have gone to Dr. Patterson for over 20+ yrs and frankly, I like the guy, but I have seen some changes in him that concerns me, either he is overbooking his daily schedule or ? I have waited as long as 3 hours to finally see him. I don't like to spend my whole day when I am on time and should be in and out at a reasonable time, not ruin the whole day. I also suddenly am limited to 10 min visits? Because of medicare? I agree with previous reviewer that Dr. does seem to be either so busy he just doesn't take the time to really talk to his patients, and he has forgotten some things about my medical history and when I query him he doesn't remember at all...a lot of my medical history is pre-computer and I guess lost to his memory...no I don't expect him to remember "little" things but serious or ciritcal patients I do. I think it maybe time for dr. to retire or cut back on his hours. I like the man, but my health is critical and if he can't remember things...my confdence is more then a… bit shaken. One other thing I dislike, If I call the office with an urgent matter and need to be seen, perhaps I cannot see Dr. Patterson, bur they have several doctors and PA's in that office that if its urgent they should make every effort to fit a patient in. With a serious infection it took me over a week to get in, and I was a much sicker person a week later. Something has to change. I hope he and his staff do make changes so that the practice doesn't over book for just seeing him, but allow patients to see the other doctors in the practice if they have openings. So far that has been denied to me. Isn't MY health the major concern? It certainly should be.

After 19 plus years Dr. Patterson has become a disappointment to me when it comes to him listening to me! I feel he has fallen into the rush of getting more patients instead of spending more quality time listening to my questions and symptoms. He put me on pills for anxiety several years ago and now that I have had a very disturbing event in my life that calls for those pills Dr. Brian wants to get me off them which has and will be detrimental to my peace of mind and mental health under my circumstances. He has diagnosed me as pre-diabetic and prescribed pills. Then later I see him for a totally different reason and I read on the patient hand-out that he says I am type 2 diabetic! Diabetes was never mentioned that day! So, am I really diabetic? I have told him of pain in my left side radiating to the back and he doesn't seem to hear me as he never responded. I have mentioned this pain many times! After all these years I am firing him and pray to God I can find someone who will really… listen to me! god I can find someone who will really listen to me!

Dr Patterson has been my doctor all of my adult life. I see him and his assistant, Marge Abbess. These two combined equal the best team you could imagine. Marge specializes in women's medicine and she spends considerable time with her patients. I have chronic health problems and have had her spend upwards of an hour discussing things with me. Their bedside manner is fantastic and you genuinely feel cared about when you are a patient of Dr Patterson's. I can't recommend Dr Patterson and Marge high enough! Sometimes the weight is a little long, but it is well worth it. You know that when you have to wait, it is because he is taking care of other people the way you can expect to be taken care of.
