Dr. Palmgren has replaced my husband’s right knee. Everything was explained in detail before surgery. Dr. Palmgren did a shoulder reversal on my left shoulder last year.As usual Doctor explained what he was going to do in detail. I have no pain moving my shoulder now. I just met with Dr. Palmgren about my right hip. It needs to be replaced. The pain is off the charts. I’m 75. I have a lot of faith in this doctor. You will not be sorry for going with Dr Palmgren for your ortho issues. Sharon Bailey August 24,2026

Had hip replacement in August 2023. Came out of surgery with loss of ability to use foot. Severe nerve damage and nerve pain, drop foot all permanent. He refused to acknowledge the injury. Said there was nothing more he could do for me. Mayo clinic took me right away and thru nerve conduction testing was able to identify crushed sciatic nerve at point of hip implementation. His refusal to acknowledge any responsibility in the injury is demeaning to his patient. I am not the only one with this same injury during surgery. There are more. But he is well protected from any repercussions due to the county and judges who even with mountains of evidence will rule with the surgeon. Really research your doctors and avoid surgeon owned surgical centers.

I went to Dr. Palmlgren about 6 years ago for a problem I still have today. I was in a lot of pain and it was discovered that I had a torn Meniscus. I went to this doctor for help and he didn't give any. He said I will need surgery but he is not going to give me surgery right now. I continued to see him and then finally he released me and said I don't need surgery because I don't need it. He was not concern about my issue and felt that I was a waste of time. He made it seem as though this injury was something I always had. Definitely not true. Everyone who knows me would know that was not true. Someone I knew went to him and he was pushing him towards surgery and that persons injury was very minor compared to mine. I lost my trust for this doctor and would never recommend him to anyone I know. I guess one good thing I could say was that the office was clean, receptionist was nice and the landscaping was nice.

Dr. Palmgren performed a CMC arthroplasty and a dequervains release surgery on my right dominant hand in 2013. The recovery was to be in a cast for 6 weeks followed by 6 weeks of therapy. After 2 weeks post surgery the temp cast was to be replaced with a more permanent cast and stitches removed. At that time I was experiencing excessive pain and my hand was still very swollen. I was to to keep elevating and icing my hand. 2 weeks later the cast was removed to remove the pin in my thumb. I tried to explain that I was still having extreme pain and my hand was still very swollen. When the pin was pulled from my thumb, it was so painful I nearly passed out. They didn't seem to care how much pain I was in. When they were replacing the cast I was crying and my entire right hand, arm and shoulder was screaming in pain. They didn't seem to care that I was in so much pain. I kept telling them how much I was in pain and they said I was okay. I told them the cast was on too tight. My fingers were… all scrunched together. It made my hand hurt more. There was a gap between the cast and the palm of my hand where I could fit a ping pong ball in that space. I said that means it is too tight. They said it was okay. I demanded they replace the cast again, they put it on too tight again. I was in so much pain I cried. They said I was okay. It was 4 weeks after the surgery, I should not have been in this much pain, and my hand was still very swollen. The pain kept getting worse and I could not sleep. My shoulder hurt so bad I could not raise my arm. When the final cast was removed my hand was still very swollen and the pain was unbearable. Pain medication didn't help. I was sent to physical therapy the next day. The therapist would treat my hand and I would scream. Not only did my hand hurt my entire arm hurt. They started treating my shoulder too. I didn't have any range of motion in my shoulder at all. About 2 weeks after my cast was off they tried to manipulate my thumb joint. It made a loud snap and I screamed so loud. There was blood coming from the quick of my nail bed. The therapist was worried he may have ruptured the tendon in my thumb. I went to see Dr. Palmgren and he said my thumb was okay. 5 months later I am still going to therapy and not making any progress. Hand is still swollen and much pain. Dr. Palmgren said elevate and ice it. Use the hand and it will get better. I told him I could not use my hand cause I could not raise my arm. My hand and arm had a different temperature (hotter), it would sweat, the skin looked waxy, and my arm felt like it had a really bad sunburn. If you just grazed the hair on my arm it would send a chilling pain throughout my body. It also felt like a red hot poker was in my armpit. After 5 months of treatment, which was supposed to be 6 weeks, and me complaining of serious pain, Dr. Palmgren diagnosed me with C.R.P.S. I now have a permanent disability of 35% in my hand, I still struggle with pain in my hand arm shoulder and neck. The cast was too tight. I was forced into retirement because I was in so much pain my husband had to dress and bathe me for over 18 months. I still need help from time to time. I can now hold a fork in my right hand to feed myself but have to hold it in a different manner because I will drop the fork. The loud snap was later discovered with x-rays from another doctor that the thumb joint was broken. The year now is 2016 almost 3 years later. The shoulder pain was because the scapula became 100% frozen. That was because of keeping my arm elevated and iced. C.R.P.S set in when the cast was on too tight and I suffered a compression syndrome. My hand is permanently disfigured and only have 5% motion of my thumb. Before I had this surgery he told me that his patents are happy after this surgery. During follow ups I was only seen by his assistant, it was after 5 months during a visit I told his assistant what Dr. Palmgren said to me about being happy. I told his assistant I was not happy. She left the exam room to get him. That was the only time I saw him after my surgery. That is when he said to me I had C.R.P.S. and he could not help me. There was nothing he could do.

Very friendly and takes the time to explain the plan of care in terms that are easy to understand. Did a good job helping me realize how the procedure will affect my daily living and how we could make things work.

I had seen Dr. Palmgren for occasional knee pain. My MRI showed virtually nothing and he continued to try to figure me out. None of my symptoms were going by "the textbook". He always listened and discussed all options. We both decided to go in and do a knee arthroscopy since nothing else made sense. He discovered a grade 3 meniscus tear. It was all repaired when I woke up. Dr. Palmgren and his staff were wonderful with follow ups and any questions I had. I highly recommend him!
