Dr. Christopher Scott Turner, MD

I came in with an extensive medical history that is complicated. Dr. turner did nothing but say all previous diagnoses were incorrect. That I was “not as sick as the patients I treat” that “I show no reason for help and I would be wasting resources” he told all people treating me that I was there for different reasons than I was and then left extremely confusing notes for the night doctor and team for how to treat. This left to a very painful night for the doctors on call and for me. It was scary. I was fearful for my life as the pain intensified. Eventually, I was told that this is not something that is unusual with him and a different doctor came to help. The following day when I tried to address this he blamed the night staff saying they were “incapable of reading the notes” and “made all of it up” I asked him if he really felt it was the night teams fault and he was faultless and he said “yes” this level of carelessness is beyond frightening. Not once did he try to apologize trust… without explaining and blaming someone else. I would immediately request a different doc or someone in the room with you when he is in the room with you. I will be leaving an email without my name because I’m fearful of acts against me in the future if needing medical assistance at this hospital.

I had to be hospitalized at Our Lady of the Lake hospital, and Dr. Turner made my stay SO much better! He had the best bedside manner, and he communicated well with me, my family, and the staff who worked with him. He made me feel like I was his only patient, even though he had many to see. He was very good at explaining what was going on to us. I definitely would recommend him if someone is admitted to this hospital!
