I had seen three orthopaedic surgeons, multiple X-rays, two MRIs, and none of them could do anything for my shoulder pain. I kept hearing that the diagnostic tests were coming back negative, but the shoulder pain was still there. Finally, I got referred to Walthour and saw him the first week he came to Modesto after working for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Unlike my other doctors, he didn't just throw more NSAIDs at me thinking that would fix me. He spent time talking with me about my pain levels, and he realized it was worth performing surgery rather than a 23 year old living with pain. He suspected it was severe bursitis, but couldn't know for sure until performing the operation due to inconclusive diagnostic tests. These tests were wrong, as I had extremely bad bursitis and multiple bone spurs that were starting to cuting my ligaments. I really thank Dr. Walthour for taking my pain seriously, as I think the other docs probably thought I was overreacting for pain meds just because their… MRI didn't show anything. But when he fixed the bursitis and bone spurs, I could finally sleep again without waking up from pain, and I had full range of motion. I really thank him for believing me and fixing my shoulder. I highly recommend him to anyone needing an orthopaedic surgeon.
