Dr. Corey James Wallach, MD

As a retired medical professional, I am incredibly particular. I chose Dr. Wallach after researching several surgeons. He did not disappoint! Excellent care and surgical outcome! His support staff were wonderful and they really were available to all of my needs. It’s been 3 months since my surgery and I am healing very nicely!

Without reservation, I would recommend Dr. Wallach and his staff at the Anderson Clinic to anyone suffering spine problems. After suffering from sciatica for months, I was referred to Dr. Wallach by my primary care physician. I met with his PA, Donna Pallas, for my first two visits. She went over my MRI in great detail, showing me how severe my stenosis was, describing possible treatments, and answering many questions. After two rounds of injections, which helped for short periods, it was obvious that surgery was the only logical solution. Dr. Wallach explained the procedure in detail and answered all questions. I felt entirely confident in going ahead with the procedure. Three months after the surgery, I am feeling great and able to do all normal activities. Follow-up care has been excellent.

Dr. Wallach is the spine specialist at the Anderson Clinic. He is an excellent surgeon with a welcoming and forthright manner. He responds effectively to questions and encourages his patients to consider alternative treatments prior to considering surgical options. The check-in process at their Arlington and Mount Vernon locations is easy and the staff is courteous and helpful. When my L5 disk flattened out and the nerves down my legs were being severely pinched, Dr. Wallach performed L5 fusion surgery to correct the problem. The surgical procedure went seamlessly and was very successful. The surgery was performed near the end of September 2025 and two months later I was walking with a normal gait, bending and stooping with no problem, and doing household chores. Dr. Wallach’s assistants, Karess Denny and Donna Palles, are very knowledgeable and nice to work with and my entire experience at the Clinic was very positive. I also had a very positive experience working with Stacy… Diamonds and other staff members in their physical therapy group. I highly recommend Dr. Wallach and the Clinic for anyone who needs spine care.

I’ve been seeing Dr Wallach and his PA, Donna Palles, since Sept 2024 for severe back pain and leg numbness that seemed to come out of nowhere as I was fit and active. They both listened carefully and had so much empathy for my MRI diagnosis of severe degenerative disc disease and severe spinal stenosis in my lumbar spine. I started PT immediately and even tried steroid shots, but after 2.5 months, nothing much helped. Dr Wallach performed a 3-level fusion and lami, and I was walking the night of surgery. I couldn’t believe it! 3 weeks later and Im improving daily bc of his pre- and post-op care. He’s not only brilliant and the best spine surgeon in the area, but he’s just such a good, honest man. He and Donna have been my biggest cheerleaders and I never doubted them once. Also, Sarah Perez is Superwoman and Natalie is amazing. Thank u all for giving me my life back!!

Dr. Wallach has been my only back/spine doctor since 2011. I cannot say enough great things about Dr Wallach! He truly cares, listens to me, and always treats me with respect. I have had various issues and after the last two surgeries, back-to-back (no pun intended), I am straight once again, and in no pain. I happily come from PA just to see him for these many reasons. He is sensitive to one's needs, too. If he can help you, he will!

I am extremely frustrated and angry with the way I was treated during my appointment with Dr. Wallach this morning, and as a result, I do not recommend him. After a couple appointments (in person and on the phone) with Dr. Wallach's PA, Karess Denny, Karess recommended that I meet Doctor Wallach at my next appointment. Karess has been amazing. She is a great listener, who takes the time to understand the problem(s) and prior treatment history before making her recommendations. As a result, I was shocked by Dr. Wallach's starkly contrasting behavior during our appointment. Dr. Wallach asked me how I was feeling, and while responding, he interrupted me mid-sentence to tell me what my options were. That became a pattern during our meeting. After being cut off five times in a row (not an exaggeration), I paused and said calmly, "Dr. Wallach, I'm becoming increasingly frustrated because every time I attempt to talk, you interrupt me and won't let me finish." To his credit, he… apologized and sat back, signaling that he was open to listening. I tried again and was able to express a full thought. On the very next interaction, however, he interrupted me AGAIN. I became more forceful in that I continued to talk even while he was trying to talk over me, but he continued, clearly not interested in what I had to say and apparently incapable of reading the room. I again expressed my frustration and in response, he said, "Look. . . I'm a really good doctor and have been doing this for a long time," to which I responded, "You may be a good doctor but you are horrible at listening to your patients. We're done here." This appointment was supposed to be a simple follow-up. I thought we were going to discuss how I was feeling and what options were available moving forward. I was appalled by his superior, rude, and dismissive behavior and his unwillingness to discuss my options' pros and cons. As a result, as I have already indicated, if you need a back doctor, I recommend going elsewhere.

Dr. Wallach is a GIFTED spin surgeon. He is assisted by PA Donna Davis who is similarly knowledgeable. I was literally in a wheel chair due to nerve pain in my lower back and right leg. It’s been two months since surgery and I feel great and am fully functional. I’m starting PT as part of my routine post surgical journey. I have zero pain and I can walk again without any discomfort. Prior to surgery Dr. Wallach thoroughly explained his plan for correcting the issues reflected in my MRI. I give him my highest recommendation! Dr. Wallach and PA Donna Davis earned my complete trust and admiration for giving me my mobility! Thank you!

When I first went to see Dr. Wallach I was suffering from sciatic pain. Following a series of X-rays, CT scans and an MRI, Dr. Wallach said that ultimately the solution would be surgery. I was not keen on back surgery so he said we could try Physical Therapy and Epidural treatments, which we did. The first epidural didn’t do much, but we tried that again and it worked, for about three months. But as the epidural began to lose its effectiveness, the pain came back but worse than before. I sat down with Dr. Wallach and said that I was ready for the back surgery. The sciatic pain now radiated down across my hips and down my right leg. I was having trouble standing for any length of time, trouble walking, and severe loss of balance due to the pain. He offered his opinion as to the extent of the surgery. But, he also suggested that I get a second opinion, which I did. The second surgeon also suggested a third. It seems that my back was a mess. The second and third opinions were… the same as Dr. Wallach’s. Dr. Wallach scheduled surgery for April 2nd. I was walking in the hospital the morning of the next day. My sciatic pain was completely gone the next day. It has only been three weeks and I am walking more, and longer. I can stand without having to sit down every few minutes. I can do more chores around the house. I can wash the dishes, which had been out of the question because of the sciatic pain. Dr. Wallach gave me back my quality of life that the sciatic pain had stolen from me. I am now looking forward to physical therapy to help me build back the lost muscle, increase my stamina for walking and being up and moving around.

I am a retired Navy Corpsman (medic) so I went in knowing what great health care is. Doc Wallach and his team did not disappoint. I had a double fusion in my C-spine and three months later I was back on my Harley. Thanks doc and team!

My entire surgical experience could not have gone any better. Dr. Wallach and his staff laid everything out and it all has gone as planned or ahead of schedule. My pain has been minimal, I followed the post-op procedures to the letter, including doing all of the walking, and was off my pain medication before the script was done, and driving in less than 3 weeks. Dr. Wallach is a sports fan so he appreciated my needs as a hockey official, football coach, and bowler (and skier); he's friendly and direct and I appreciate that approach so he and I have gotten along well. Overall, this has been a great experience.
