Dr. Della Valle is terrific! I just had my second hip replacement today—both done by Dr. DV a year apart. I learned the hard way how postponing surgery can give you the unpleasant experience of fairly rapid and painful decline in mobility, simple functions and multiple pain sites all caused by the need for a hip replacement. My experience w Dr DV was excellent. He is quick, direct, caring and a superb surgeon. He has put together a great team of nurses, admins and team leaders who are very accessible and equally caring. I am sure there are many very rewarding surgical specialties that a Doctor can choose but orthopedic surgery has to be very high on the rank of most rewarding. Orthopedic surgeons deliver near miracles to patients who would be crippled without their wonderful skills creating most grateful patients almost every time. Dr. Della Valle is a pro at the top of his game! I recommend him highly.

I had a partial knee replacement 3 weeks ago and I feel great! I can walk & climb stairs pain-free after being in excruciating pain for 3 years! Dr. Della Valle has a great post-op daily texting system to keep you connected and on top of required exercises and progress. I love that! Dr. Della Valle and his team are all incredibly professional, explain things very clearly and in detail, and have a friendly bedside manner. I have already recommended Dr. Della Valle to friends. World-Class Surgeon, High-Volume System The Surgeon: I chose Dr. Della Valle because he is the best in the Midwest, if not the world, for complex revisions. During our first meeting, he told me "frankly, you will never be satisfied," because he and others said my knee should never have been operated on originally. He looked at my imaging and wasn't 100% sure why the failure occurred even though I shared my records and the admission of the original surgeon of his error. He Came up with his hypothesis but admitted to me , "I could be wrong because I have been before." In the end, my documentation was exactly what had caused the problem. He accomplished our goal and fixed it 100%—and that is exactly why I chose him. The Experience: You are going to get expert hands, but you might not get his ears. He is very direct, full of confidence and tends to talk over you but I chose him based on skill. Once in the "surgical mill," a strict gag order takes effect, no one on the team could provide… updates except the him. My post-op consultation lasted 15 seconds. When at home I was left to resolve a post-surgical complication (spinal leak symptoms) pretty much on my own. The Follow-Up: My 6-week follow-up was a 10-minute "business-as-usual" appointment focused on a perfect X-ray and a hideous (but closed) scar. For such a specialized, rare revision, the lack of acknowledgment that my records were right from the start was a let down. I won’t see him for a year, but given the very long drive, this works. The Verdict: He may not be warm and fuzzy, he is direct and quick in and out, but he accomplishes what he sets out to do. You go to him for his expertise. His team was average, but it is an educational hospital. He gets the job done, but realize you are a number in a very large, very fast machine. I highly recommend him as a surgeon for a guaranteed promised outcome.

My visit was very pleasant at the Munster location. The young women at the front desk were very polite and helpful. The young lady that took my vitals and the X-ray technician were very kind. The PA Megan was courteous and of course Dr. Della Valle was receptive and thorough as usual.

I'm very fortunate to have had Dr. Della Valle perform my knee replacement. With text book credits and implant designs, he is extremely well qualified. He's also one of the most empathetic, perceptive, and supportive physicians I have encountered. Everyone in my circle is impressed with the result. Six weeks post-op and it's feeling great. I'm looking forward to everything I'll be able to do again!

I had hip replacement on 09/25/25 Dr Della Valle and his team were amazing from my first appointment to surgery! My recovery was unbelievable! I was well informed and guided each step of the process. I felt 100% better the day after surgery! I was texted daily as to what to expect. We live in a city with the best hospitals and Doctors! I would recommend Dr. Della Valle if you are looking for the best available.

He is amazing, on time, attentive, caring and easy to understand. His staff is equally courteous, friendly and helpful.
