Dr. Cynthia Heather Halcin, MD

I would not recommend this doctor to anybody. Cut my wife 7 times in the same spot on her leg for squamous cell carcinoma never getting a clear margin. Finally we had enough and went to UF Health Cancer Center in Orlando for a second opinion. Seen by Dr. Nair, a oncology surgeon and great doctor. He preformed surgery on the same spot again (difficult because of all the other worthless surgery's at the site) , but this time SUCCESS!! She has had squamous show up in other areas BUT NOT IN THAT SPOT! She now has Dr. Andrew Minor as her dermatologist. He is also very good. A few months later we received a letter from Dr. Halcin's office telling us how dangerous it would be if we let this condition go. The only thing dangerous would be to keep going to this Dr. Of course if you just want a mole taken off then I guess that would be fine.

Dr. Halcin and her surgery assistant Chantel are the dynamic duo ! Dr. Halcin has always explained my skin cancers in detail and made me very comfortable during the procedures. Chantel is such a delight, she explained my diagnoses clearly on the phone. She offered me a magazine while I waited. They are both very warm and friendly and I would highly recommend. I referred my neighbor and she said that Chantel remembered she was becoming a new grandmother and mentioned it and her next 6 month visit! I wish all my doctors had such friendly staff as they do. Every time I see my primamry doctor he has new staff, glad things stay the same there. Highly recommend !!!

I saw Julie the assistant. My appointment was scheduled for 10am and I wasn't seen until close to 11am, when I mentioned the wait she didn't even apologize, she just said that she was busy. . The room was freezing and she spoke over me and did not listen to my concerns. I would not recommend. I have found another dermatologist in the area and I am much happier with the service.

I am so happy. I had this skin rash that no one could figure out what it was. My doctor sent me to Dr Halcin and she talked with me for a long time explaining what she was thinking and what tests we need to do to figure it out. She got the diagnosis and spoke with my doctor about my treatment and now it is working! Her whole staff is great.

Dr. Halcin is a fantastic and caring doctor. She really takes time and cares about her patients. I have also been seen by her P.A., who also if very knowlegable and thorough. I have sent several friends to see Dr. Halcin and all have been pleased.

I was mis diagnosed three times by the P.A. Never saw the doctor. I have been in pain since going to her office for over a month. They did not help me, but continue to collect co pays. Finally went to another physician who treated me probably and my pain disappeared. I suffered for a long time as theP.A. Never listened to me when I told her my symptoms. Never would I recommend them to anyone.

Dr Halcin is very thorough. She held my hand through a difficult diagnosis. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I called for my first appt in 10/2011. I was told Dr. Halcin didn't have any appt time open until late 2012. But I could see the PA immediately. I said I would like to see Dr. Halcin. An appt was made for 4-6 months later. However, when I did go to the appt I was seen by the PA. The Dr. wasn't available. I called yesterday to make another appt with the DOCTOR. I was told Dr. Halcin didn't have any appts until 2013. However, I could see a NEW PA next week. I do not believe a doctor should advertise if they don't have any intention of seeing patients. I also believe you shouldn't have to pay the same $$$ to be seen by a PA, afterall, they are not a MD. Therefore, Dr. Halcin is receiving a low score due to the above comments.
