Had reverse shoulder surgery four weeks ago lland he was patient, took time to answer questions and I’m so happy I chose Dr. Chivek. Important to remember, each of us heals at different rates but for me it was quick compared to my knee replacements which had been a positive experience too. Little discomfort and every day I’m closer to normal. I’d highly recommend him for his skills and knowledge and bed side manner .

Dr Chafik is one of the most caring and honest doctors I've had to work with. My husband and I are both had surgeries done by him. He is honest and upfront and explains everything very clearly. I would recommend him to anyone especially if it has to do with your shoulder.

I had fractured my humerus and the shaft had separated from the head of the humerus. Dr. Chafik inserted a plate and screws. The operation and results have been perfect. Dr. Chafik kept us informed about the potential problems which could arise, but we were fortunate in that none did and the bone hasgrown around the fracture site. We are very satisfied wth Dr. Chafik's attention and care.

Am a "snowbird". Have a shoulder which has been diagnosed with "Itises" (tendonitis, bursitis, arthritis). Had a very painful exacerbation and saw Dr. Chafik as a new patient. He was running very much behind schedule, and when he got into the exam room, diagnosed me hurriedly as having "no cartiledge" in my shoulder and needing a replacement. Got my X-rays and flew to my "home" orthopedic surgeon who is very versed in sports injuries being our local NFL team doctor as well as having a private practice. He diagnosed me as having very inflamed bicep tendon, rotator cuff, and a lot of arthritis. Gave me an injection and two weeks later I am back in TUS playing golf again. I was SO stressed facing the possibility of a shoulder replacement and extended recovery time. For two weeks I was very much in pain experiencing sleepless nights and diminished appetite as well as fear, and facing over 6 months of disability. Both Dr. Chafik and my "home" doctor have impressive, similar… educational backgrounds (Princeton, UCLA, Harvard; Princeton, Columbia, Harvard) and are obviously very intelligent. I cannot understand how two such totally different diagnoses were made? Obviously what I needed was a cortisone shot. Always get a SECOND OPINION!!!!

In general, I feel like Dr C is an accomplished Dr and a good surgeon. I had shoulder surgery after many years of intense pain. The surgery went well , My recovery was painful but unmarred by problems and my shoulder is improving. So, I was eventually helped with my problem. However, I took away stars because I believe that the long hesitation and time I had to wait and beg for help before surgery bordered on cruelty. I lost so much in the time It took for me to convince him that I needed (at least )an exploratory procedure - The pain caused Problems with sleep, loss of work, strain on my marriage, I'm now dependent on pain medication, and My body is exhausted from years of stress from the pain. I never thought that I would ever have to beg for surgery but I'm glad I stood up for myself!

Dr. Chafik has done both of my shoulder replacement and did an outstanding job. I am more than satisfied with the results. He is also my wife's Dr. and he has been very good with helping her.

Dr. Chafik is very good at diagnosing and explaining my shoulder issues. He is very thorough and very conservative in his approach. Always says surgery is the last option.

It has been over 2 years since I have seen this very caring compassionate doctor. He was very clear about my options to replace my shoulder. I had a minor complication from the operation that he had not dealt with prior to my case. Post surgery and for the next 2 - 4 weeks, my arm was totally numb. No feeling at all. I was just glad that the pain was gone!! It was quite inconvenient to have to lug around my "dead" arm. Extremely weird trying to shower!! It seemed to always be in the way! As I said, Doc. Chafik was very kind, apologetic and concerned about how this was affecting me emotionally and physically! I recommend him to anyone that has not experienced a doctor who asks questions and actually hears and listens to one's answers. Very caring, calm and soothing. May go back soon about my right elbow!

He is a wonderful knowledgeable physician and surgeon. The office runs smoothly. Everyone is pleasant and caring. No better place in town to see if you have an issue within their specialty.
