Good surgeon. Horrible bed side manner. Office is clueless with regard to the law and rules on GLP-1 medications and as a patient I shouldn’t know more than any of them. They don’t take accountability for misinformation, don’t reply to calls or emails, then provide incorrect information that was actually legally incorrect. When you are on other medications please research things yourself, be your own advocate and do not blindly trust information provided or you will inject non fda approved medication (when fda approved one is available). Reason given was that’s the pharmacy they used. Also it was double the price for this and 1,000 other patients on it. Well did they know or ask? I checked facts with other doctors and pharmacies and had to advocate for myself. Ask questions. Also every time I went (over 3+ years) he couldn’t even recall what surgery I had. Be prepared to see your patient and don’t recommend an upper for weight loss to someone with a severe neurological… sleep disorder or other health issues. You have to do your own work he’s not a miracle maker. Don’t just believe everything. I had extreme anxiety from the whole experience and it took multiple calls for anyone to get back to me and they still had incorrect info. It’s just not ok. Not once did the doctor call to clear things up.

Step by step I felt supported and encouraged. My only regret is not having the sleeve surgery sooner. I am happier than I have been in a very long time. My kids are thrilled because I can do more with them and I want to be in pictures again! I am stronger physically and emotionally and I owe it all to Dr. Buchin and the rest of the Long Island Obesity team.

I spent several months researching bariatric surgery and doctors in the area and the reason I chose Dr Buchin to do my Gastric Bypass is because of his outstanding reputation, his patient results, and the support system his practice offers. His program provides endless education before and after surgery. At times I would just walk into their office without an appointment because I had a question about nutrition or vitamins and without fail they would always accommodate me- even if they had a packed waiting room! Every time I called, even if I was at the grocery store and needed help buying the best cottage cheese, I always got to speak to their nutritionist or Dr Buchin. Their accessibility is unbelievable. No matter how many times a day I called the office they never rushed me off the phone or seemed annoyed. And I couldn’t be happier with my results! No matter how much weight I lost Dr Buchin always responded with positive feedback and encouragement. I honesty believe that if I had… gone to any other doctor; I would not have had this type of success with my weight loss journey! If your looking into any kind of weight loss surgery the only place to go is Dr Buchin.
