Dr. Chessin seemed nice for his inital gastic banding as I was referred to him by my gastroenterologist,, but I would never, ever go back for any hemmorroid surgery because not only did he try and treat me constantly with pain killers , rather than hear my complaints that they weren't working, and prescibed an ointment that i also told him was ineffective with further dismissal of my complaints, --his prediction for my recovery was way too long,-- It has been a total of 3 months-- not the 3 weeks he told both me and my husband when I agreed to do this elective surgery. He overlooked a serious problem he caused found by 2 other doctors, then denied it was there. and told me to stop the treatment was given, prolonging my misery. He never listened patiently, I always felt rushed. My second opinion doctor saw the problem immediately, understood why I was in excuciating pain and gave me the correct treatment. I would never, as a physician myself send anyone to him.

Dr Chessin treated me conservatively for a fissure - a common, but painful and embarrassing chronic problem. After the nitro treatment didn’t take, he used a Botox injection which has healed the tissue now for a few months. I found him to be very knowledgeable - always explaining everything about the condition, treatments, statistics, risks, and so forth. Additionally, I have found his office easy to schedule with (compared to specialists who seem to have zero availability!) and appointments were appropriately quick and start on time. A female nurse was in the room throughout our appointments, which made me feel comfortable as well, particularly on my initial visit when I had to take my pants off in front of a male stranger.

Did not see me before surgery. "Forgot" a procedure I asked for. Would not answer questions or concerns after surgery. Needed corrective surgery afterwards from another surgeon.

Aggressive about surgery. Was worried that I would go elsewhere. Got annoyed when I said I was getting a second opinion

Dr. David Chessin spared me surgery for an inverted appendix. I am so grateful and appreciative for his honesty, integrity and intellect. Dr. David Chessin is an excellent and outstanding physician.

I went to Doctor Chessin for treatment for internal hemorrhoids. He did a band procedure on me that left me in excruciating pain. I tried to deal with it but after suffering for 3 hours with no relief coming from the Advil and warm baths that were supposed to help I called him. He seemed annoyed that I called and then refused to prescribe something to help relieve the pain. I cannot tell you how shocked I was by his lack of concern and reasoning which made no sense. Pain killers cause constipationâ?¦..that was the reason he wanted me to stay in pain. I am supposed to have 2 more of these procedures done and I will definitely not being going back to this Doctor.

Dr. David Chessin is great. After 2 previous surgeries for Crohn's Disease with a different surgeon, I went to him. He spent a lot of time with me, and explained what he would do. The first surgery was 7 hours. The next was only a couple of hours. Afterwards, I was able to return to all activities. The future looked bleak before him. I owe him my life. He is EXCELLENT!! I highly recommend him. I would consider him a top notch surgeon with great compassion and bedside manner.

Some doctors have a magic in their hands. David has it. Very down to earth, explains everything what he does.Also he is innovative and has latest methods which ease pain and speed up recovery.
