Dr. David James Phillips, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Phillips for 20+ years. He has always been very attentive, thorough, and he listens to you. Several family members and friends see him as well and they are all are very pleased with him. I highly recommend him to anyone! Also, the nurses and office staff have always been very helpful and courteous. I cannot thank them enough for helping me through some difficult times! Working in healthcare is very challenging but this physician and his staff do a wonderful job!

Dr. Phillips has been my outstanding primary care physician for at least 20 yrs. I recently moved away and will greatly miss his care and caring.

teddy bear demeanor. knowledgeable but seems able to connect with patients at their level of understanding - walked me through some body functions with a car example. good guy that is respectful and wants to be helpful.

He is very caring and pleasant doctor. Always helps you out, too bad you can't just see him and not his sorry poor excuse for a nurse. Most hateful and rude person I've ever made contact with. Wouldn't help me get my insulin when I'm about to run out. Sorry I haven't been there in a year because I didn't know you could see pregnant women. Also it's also been almost 3 months since my daughter was born and is still in NICU. She's more important than worrying about coming to see your lazy a word. So thankfully I go to his NP soon so I can get some insulin so I will not die. But maybe she should have thought about treating his patients with respect before being the b word.

Nice personality. If you want to socialize, he's very pleasant. However if you want results, you might consider someone else .

Dr Phillips is a caring Dr .Have looked for years to find a Dr like him.He expects you to do what he asks you to do and thats good because getting well is his major concern

After moving to Chattanooga 3+ years ago, I looked for a doctor. I am on several medications I must have to live. I have had many bad experiences and changed doctors several times. On two occasions when I expressed concerns about prescription mistakes made by their staff, the doctors then refused to see me. Apparently the majority of doctors in Chattanooga believe their oath to "First, do no harm" means do themselves no harm rather than their patients!Recently, I happened on Dr David Phillips. I could not be more happy. He actually listens to me and takes the time to get it right. It is obvious he knows what he is doing. Also, he has a Nurse Practitioner available on short notice. My quality of life is finally back to normal.As you would expect with such a rare doctor, it takes a while to get an appointment, and you may experience lengthy wait times at his office. I have no problem with that, however, as Dr Phillips takes all the time necessary with patients and has no way to… estimate his schedule.The staff is very friendly and there are plenty of them, as well as a lab at the office. There are several doctors in the practice, so someone is usually available for emergencies.If there is a better group in Chattanooga, I haven't found them. This man is a keeper, and highly recommended.

Dr Phillips and the office staff are all friendly except his RN. (I am not the only one who thinks this) the way she answers questions or comments about something. She does it in a very hateful and uncaring tone.
