Dr. David Mark Lubeck, MD

I have worn glasses since 8th grade. I am now 77. Surgery done on both eyes, a month apart because I was afraid to do both at the same time. Everyone in Dr. Lubeck’s practice were 100% kind and caring. The atmosphere in the office and in surgery was efficient, peaceful and soothing. I had a laser surgery done by Dr. Lubeck which made my eye even worse. He made the opening of a previous laser surgery for secondary cataract even bigger and because of that I ended up having to have more surgery by another specialist because of what he did. He thought he did such a wonderful job that he wanted to tape it so he could use it in his teachings. I hope he doesn’t teach his students to do that and ruin even more people’s eyes. His staff was rude and when I said I was there to have surgery on my right eye the tech argued with me saying it was the left eye and wanted to put drops in the left eye and I would not let her because it was supposed to be the right eye and until after dr lubeck happen to be in the hallway did she finally ask and never apologized for being wrong. After that I tried calling about this problem and my phone calls Were never returned again.

After a vitreous detachment in both eyes, my vision was cloudy and I could not focus. I was constantly blinking to try and clear vision. Retina specialists told me that everyone will get this with old age and that there was nothing that could be done. I would have to live with it for the rest of my life. Dr. Lubeck performed laser treatment to break up the detached tissue inside of my eyes. This resulted in a much improved & clearer eyesight.

I’ve just had cataract surgery in my left eye from dr. Lubeck and am feeling so grateful to have experienced the care and concern from Dr. Lubeck and the Arbor team in Orland Pk. I also have glaucoma in my left eye and have been experiencing high eye pressures complicated by pseudoexfoliation which is like dandruff of the eye that clogs the drainage canals of the eye. Dr Lubeck suggested a procedure,and performed it during the cataract surgery, for reducing this eye pressure and maybe eliminating use of drops. The surgery experience was surreal and Dr. Lubeck was so professional and caring in telling me what was going on and ended with surgery went well, all looking good. My husband had Lasik surgery one year ago and it was the best decision he ever made. After wearing glasses and contacts for 25 years, he is now free! Dr. Lubeck was wonderful and his staff is as well. He came highly recommended from our local eye doctor for good reason. And, the rates were competitive despite his reputation for being the best.

I went to Dr. Lubeck because I thought he would be my Ophthalmologist. I needed cataract surgery. He performed surgery on both eyes. I had an eye problem after surgery that required treatment. But after the surgery he no longer sees you but pushes you off on a large staff of other doctors that I've never heard of. Thought I would be able to keep seeing him but his nurse said he does so many surgeries that he does not have time to see patients after the surgery is done.

Dr. Lubeck is dedicated to "challenges" in patients' diagnostic results. Unlike too many doctors' assembly-line approach, Dr. Lubeck is committed to diagnosing the core problem and finding a solution. Highly, highly recommended!!

I consulted Dr. Lubeck regarding Lasik surgery. The staff was professional and friendly through the testing process. Unfortunately, I was not a candidate for the surgery. However Dr. Lubeck spent at least 45 minutes over the phone and in his office, offering a detailed explanation of why the surgery would not be the best choice what other options were available, at no charge. The surgical equipement is up to date, and he gives seminars on the newest techniques. He is passionate about his profession and I would recommend him to any one considering refractive surgery.
