Dr. Douglas Preston Beall, MD

This was hands down the worst doctor's experience of my life, 65 years in. I suffer from bilateral sciatica, bilateral central canal and foraminal stenosis, suffer from nerve impingement; every disc in my lumbar spine is bulging... the ones that are there, that is, as the surgeons want to replace 2 discs with rubber ones and fuse me at 3 levels. I also have a Schmorl's node. My primary has been after me for years to get an epidural and referred me to Beall. This guy comes in obviously in a hurry, has me raise & lower my legs and then asks me where it hurts most and I told him different places. He asked me no, where does it hurt most, and I told him again at different times, it's different places. I also have suffered from Deep Gluteal Syndrome, which I wish on nobody, so when that's active, it hurts more than other places. When my legs give out, that hurts more than other places. And the center of my back hurts all the dang time. I tried telling this guy these things, and all he wanted… to do was interrupt me and no matter what I said, "No, no, no, where does it hurt the most?" I guess since I wouldn't answer his question the way he wanted me to, he wanted nothing to do with me, as he said, "Sorry, I cannot help you." He was focused on something other than helping me. I don't know whether it was time limitations or doing things his way or the highway or what, but it most definitely wasn't me. I have never felt more humiliated in my life, as he did this in front of his nurse and another doctor-looking guy. This kind of interaction makes me not want to go to a doctor ever again! Shame on him!

I am trying to avoid a surgery where they want to replace 2 discs in my back with rubber discs and fuse at 3 levels, a surgery that has a glowing 50% success rate. I'm doing everything I can to avoid this surgery. My primary has been on me for years to get an epidural, so I go to Beall to get one. He was obviously in a hurry, didn't want to hear what I had to say, kept interrupting me with, "No, no, no, no," only wanted me to answer his question as posed. This guy is extremely arrogant, pompous and didn't give a rat's tail about me... he was ready to be on to the next one. I interrupted his flow and he said my way or the highway, very literally told me, "Sorry, I can't help you." How controlling is that? Like I said, arrogant, pompous, and extremely rude, has the bedside manners of a den of rattlesnakes. Shame on him for the way he treats his fellow man, much less his patient!

Staff does not understand insurance, shows no empathy, doesn't accept responsibility for dropping the ball. Dr. Beall is great though. Unfortunately if you need anything done that requires his staff to complete PA or paperwork there will be issues due to incompetence.

Great bedside manner and wonderful staff

I give him a one as there is nothing lower. I can't use the words to describe him. I would never refer to him as a DR. my vet is 1000 x better. He is the rudest I've ever met EVER!. His ego is so huge he thinks he's a god! Did a procedure on me, I had never met him. The next morning he came into my room and proclaimed I needed to respect him! his very first words. No even an introduction. He is an A,,h..l'st class. And thats on a good day.

Meet him twice and his friendly and gives you the facts of the problems you have and his very honest about it, he will answer your questions and give you straight out the facts, something that other doctors haven’t told me about my condition... Thank you Dr Beall

The Absolute Best of the Best!!!

Doctor stopped my husband from asking a question during a pause. Administrator or the pump trial treated us in a way that made us not want to be there. Asked for clarification and she acted like we were questioning her intelligence. Don’t want to say more because she threatened to sue us if we posted a bad review.

I had to wait almost 50 minutes for a scan. The person doing the scan said she was the only one there, but I saw several people and one came in with an armload food. When I complained about the wait and no one but me in the waiting room, the woman said "well, she had apologized but that wasn't enough for me. "Wow blame the patient for their lack of organization! They made the appointment over 2 weeks earlier. I can describe the others there, so she was not the only one. No reason to make the nearly first person wait almost an hour! I will never go back. I never saw the doctor. Staff was not very nice or concerned about my time or concern

He is a terrible Dr. He did an MRI on my back and then his office called and said I needed some cortisone shots in my back. I had never ever even met the doctor his office told me that the Oklahoma Arthritis Center wanted me to go to him. Before he did the cortisone shots I told him I wanted to see an MRI and he said he couldn't show it to me he took a piece of paper and show me boxes of the desk that were bulging and I said can I see the MRI and he said he couldn't show it to me. I should have gotten up and walked out of that hospital right then and I wish the heck I would have. After he did that he came in and said he was going to set me up at appointment with a back surgeon because I would be in a wheelchair in 10 years if I didn't have back surgery. I'm 68 years old I might be dead in 10 years. I told him that I would not have back surgery that my back was not bothering me and if I ever needed back surgery I would go where my husband went Dr Han at The Spine Center. I told him that… I can't believe he came in there and tell me I need it back surgery when he wouldn't even show me an MRI of the bulging disc he was an a****** and I would never ever go back to him
