Dr. Stephen Michael Sims, MD

Dr. Sims has been my pain mgmt. for 8-10 years now. He is awesome at what he does, and if not for him i don't know how i would escape the pain.

I called several times and the phone was not answered and was not forwarded to a machine or service. The day I was scheduled, I arrived early for my appointment but was ignored for 30 minutes, then given papers to fill out. Dr. was pleasing and asked questions. Other staff was much more business like.

I was referred to Dr. Sims due to chronic pain from Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia. I was glad to see the reviews that he helped several people. My problem is I had the issue of staff not returning my phone calls to schedule an appointment. If the Dr. is that busy it would have been nice to receive a call from the staff at least saying they were not taking any new patients so I could move on instead of waiting and calling to just be ignored. I called several times and you CANNOT get through to anyone. If the Dr. is taking new patients he might want to know he is losing patients due to incompetent staff. I happen to be a very busy person also and in pain all the time, but I manage to get my job done. I now have to take time out of my busy day to call my Dr. and ask for a new referral as I have no desire to try again to get in to see Dr. Sims. Don't waste your time leaving a message they will not return your call.

Sims is a quack Only doctor I've ever seen that charges $10 just to write a prescription for a pain med A prescription that may take all of 15 to 20 Seconds to write Now that's really low class And don't expect any kindness from his head nurse Martha Further more Sims is just plain incompetent

Dr. Sims treated both my parents with excellent outcomes and a relief from the pain.

Finally found someone to help me with my pain.

Dr. Sims has done miracles with helping me to cope with severe pain. A few of the people on his staff are, quite frankly, rude and difficult. His knowledge and skill offset the staff issues.

I have been seeing Dr Sims for about 3 years now for my lower back. THE ESI's have really helped my back pain and seems to last about 6 months or so. Dr Sims is always very professional and actually listens to what I am saying. I don't know about the other surveys except they must be for another doctor because he has always been the best pain doctor for me! His staff is always happy & you can tell they enjoy their jobs! I would definitely recommend him to friends & family needing pain management! :)

I HAVE BEEN A PATIENT OF DR. SIMS FOR 5 YEARS. I SEE HIM IN THE CONROE OFFICE. DR. SIMS:THERE IS NOT ANOTHER PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTOR THAT I WOULD BE WILLING TO SEE. MY HUSBAND DRIVES ME THERE FROM TEXAS CITY. WE LEAVE 2 HOURS BEFORE THE APPT. IN CASE THERE IS A TRAFFIC TIE UP. AT THE TIME I NEEDED A PAIN MGT. DOCTOR, I WAS SEEN BY 2 OR 3 OTHER PAIN MGT. DOCTORS THAT WERE NOT RIGHT FOR ME. I KNOW THAT SINCE THE TIME I STARTED SEEING DR. SIMS THERE HAVE BEEN MORE PAIN MGT. DOCTORS AVAILABLE TO ME. I (MY HUSBAND ALSO) HAVE 100% CONFIDENCE IN DR. SIMS & WOULD NOT CONSIDER CHANGING, EVEN IF THERE WAS ONE DOWN THE STREET FROM ME. HE KNOWS ME & TAKES THE TIME TO EXPLAIN ANYTHING I HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT. DR. SIMS HAS 3 OR 4 OFFICES TO SEE PATIENTS IN AREAS AROUND HIS MAIN OFFICE IN HUNTSVILLE. HE SPENDS 1/2 A DAY IN THE OTHER OFFICES, IN CONROE HE SEES PATIENTS 1/2 A DAY 2 DAYS A WEEK. HE HAS MOVED OFFICES IN CONROE TO HAVE A SURGERY SUITE TO DO SOME PROCEDURES IN. IT IS NICE THAT I… DON'T HAVE TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL, GET REGISTERED, & THEN GO TO AN OPERATING SUITE OR RADIOLOGY. ANY DOCTOR CAN JUST GIVE PAIN PILLS TO A PATIENT. THAT IS NOT WHAT DR. SIMS DOES. HE LOOKS FOR ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO MANAGE A PATIENTS PAIN & MAKES SURE THAT THE PATIENT KNOWS WHAT TO EXPECT. DR. SIMS. HE CONTINUALLY CHECKS TO MAKE SURE THAT THE TREATMENTS CHOSEN ARE WORKING FOR THE PATIENTS. WHILE IN THE WAITING AREA, I'VE MET SO MANY PEOPLE THAT FEEL THE SAME WAY ABOUT DR. SIMS THAT I DO. HE IS A VERY CARING PERSON TO PATIENTS & STAFF. THERE IS NOT A BIG TURNOVER IN STAFF BECAUSE DR. SIMS TREATS THE STAFF WITH RESPECT & KINDNESS. STAFF:THE STAFF ARE ALWAYS COURTEOUS, KNOW ME BY NAME, ARE ALWAYS ATTENTIVE TO MY NEEDS, SHOW THAT THEY CARE ABOUT ME, & HELP ME WITH ANYTHING I NEED HELP WITH. THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL, THERE IS A WINDOW THAT IS KEPT MOSTLY CLOSED, NO PERSONAL INFORMATION REGARDING PATIENT INFORMATION IS HEARD IN EATHER THE OFFICE MANAGER, MARTHA, IS EXTREMELY HELPFUL & KEEPS IN CONTACT WITH DR. SIMS. SHE ALWAYS RETURNS CALLS. THE OFFICE HAS A PHONE ANSWERING SYSTEM NOW. IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO ANSWER @ THE TIME YOU CALL, THERE IS A SYSTEM TO LEAVE A MESSAGE WITH THE STAFF GROUP THAT YOU NEED TO TALK WITH.

I had two visits with Dr. Sims and I never intend to go back. He is not interested in his patients. I would never refer him to any one ... family or friend.
