Dr. Douglas Tracey Shepherd, MD

I went to Dr. Shepherd several times for pain in my low back, buttock. He was very friendly and helpful the first couple of visits and did an si joint injection. This injection made my pain sooo much worse. After this he was just awful and would admit to nothing nor would he provide any help whatsoever. He even went so far so to hint that I was a drug seeker even though I did not ask for any medication, only answers as to what happened and where to go from here. Very rude man and I would never go to him again.

Very pleased with my experience. Genuinely interested in my condition and attentive to my concerns. Offered some excellent advice and set forth treatment alternatives to consider. I felt empowered as a patient and felt he was a partner in my treatment as opposed to a dictator.

I was glad to find Dr Shepherd. He listened to everything I was saying about my back pain. He had some great ideas when I thought I was at the end of the road. He is very helpful. I would definitely recommend him.

THINK TWICE BEFORE SEEING Doug Shepherd. I was and still am disturbed by the disrespect and disregard he displayed toward me as a patient! His total disregard for the patient is appalling. He cut me off repeatedly. He would ask a question and stop me during my answer, would not care to listen to what I had to say. His bedside manners and rudeness were repugnant. Not even at the VA, where doctors are salaried Government employees, have I ever been treated so poorly like I was with Doug Shepherd at Alpine Spine in Layton. He was very belittling and authoritative. I would NEVER send my WIFE or CHILDREN to see him, EVER!!! Office was clean and wait time was minimal, punctuality was great. But I would rather wait an hour or two at the VA and be attended to by a courteous medical professional, than get right in and feel like poop afterward.
