Dr. Elna Minae Masuda, MD

This is a very belated review. 17 years ago, Dr. Masuda was presented with our then 21-year-old daughter who had blood clots all the way from her right kidney, across her abdomen, down to her left ankle. It had resulted from newly taking birth control pills, smoking, and several clotting factors. Dr. Masuda called in a team and they consulted and decided that surgery was the only option. All very tricky - enough blood thinners to keep her heart clear, but not so much that surgery is dangerous. Two surgeries later, and our sweet daughter’s life was saved! Probably against all odds. Dr. Masuda was amazing, as a surgeon, and as a compassionate, caring cheerleader for us and our child. Because of her, we still have our beautiful daughter and will be seeing her get married tomorrow!!

We were getting ready to come back home and had to to go to Straub hospital and Dr Masuda took excellent care of me for about 10 days before we could come back to California It turns out that I had gotten an 8 inch over top of my new left femoral graft which was only done on 12/10/2009 So in essence she saved my life and am very grateful she was an excellent surgeon and took excellent care of me from the first time of meeting Thank You again for all you did for me Dr Masuda is an excellent vascular surgeon and would recommend her for anyone her services

She is such a caring doctor as well as inquisitive. She's a team player and is so smart.
