Dr. Smith is a very attentive and caring person. He showed me the X-ray pictures one by one and diagnosed perfectly with my condition. He spent a lot of time listening and answered my questions patiently. I have no doubt in my mind that I will have him do my surgery.

After seeing a Rothman ortho knee specialist (who was professional and kind) for several years, I was referred to Dr Smith (who was the exact opposite). I eagerly awaited discussing with him the plan to return to mobility in the sports I love. Rather than read my medical info he made many assumptions that simply were not the case. He was judgmental, rude and abusive. He did not know my medical history or review any of it with me. He simply told me my situation was my own fault and that I would end up a double amputee. He told me multiple times I needed to “knock it off”, with what I do not know. I assume he was again saying my weight and medical issues were a choice. He spoke to me with aggression, blame and verbally smacked me around with no compassion. I truly wish I had recorded the appointment. I paid a co pay to not be examined or even medically consulted. If he simply does not work with patients past a certain BMI that could have been stated before I exposed myself to his abuse.

I brought my hard of hearing mother to Dr. Smith for a second opinion. He was dismissive of my mother and talked very loudly to her as if that would help her hear him better. We were in the exam room less than 10 minutes before he gave us a diagnosis that was exactly the same as the one we had already gotten from a Premier Orthopedics doctor. The only reason why we went here was because my mom's friend recommended Dr. Smith and it was "Rothman." What we got was arrogance and a complete waste of time and money.
