Dr. Eugenio Medina Bricio, MD

Years ago I saw Dr Bricio for a stress test. After putting me through the treadmill and electrocardiogram, he told me he saw something in the results that "bothered him" and without further ado wanted to perform surgery on me to implant stints. Ironically, around that time I had been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and that doctor also needed to put me through a stress test, especially since I told him what Dr. Bricio had told me. That exam was performed thoroughly and at the end, this and other doctors came to me to tell me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my heart and they could not figure out the prior diagnosis and were puzzled over it. Mind you, even after accepting my insurance which paid for the stress tests, and nothing more, Dr. Bricio's office kept wanting to charge me an outrageous extra hundreds of dollars out of pocket, which only stopped after I complained to the competent authorities. I see the excellent reviews many are giving him, many from "my mother" type… situations. I would wonder if they had bothered to get second opinions before wholeheartedly accepting his diagnosis for the need for surgeries that may have not been necessary at all. So, my suggestion is any patient of his should indeed seek a second opinion before going through the knife so to speak.

Dr. Bricio has been my go-to general practitioner from the time I stopped seeing a pediatrician. He treated my grandmother, my mother, and now me and my sister. He is always available for clarification of any questions, and his staff makes sure that if something is truly an emergency they get us in to see him. Dr. Bricio is caring, intelligent, and thoughtful. He also makes excellent referrals to specialists if necessary. Further, with a specialty in cardiology, I feel very comfortable knowing that he provides treatment with an eye toward any cardio issues if they present.

Dr Bricio has been my mother's doctor for about 20 years. I can honestly say, he treats my mom like a family member. He's guided us through numerous surgeries (pacer, emergency encarceated hernia and ascending aortic aneurysm) and has consistently diagnosed, treated and referred mom to the right people. His bedside manner is above and beyond. We always feel safe and comforted when he's involved. He closely followed my mom's aortic aneurysm for 6 years and when surgery was needed, he found and personally spoke to the surgeon he referred us to (Dr. Jospeh Bavaria) for her aneurysm repair and valve replacement to ensure he was the right guy for the job. This procedure saved my mother's life. Dr Bricio followed up from Miami (we had surgery in Philly) post surgery to see how mom was doing. I'm positive my mom would move anywhere just to keep him as her dr and I don't blame her! PS, I gave him 3 stars for promptness because he takes his time with each patient but that's well worth… waiting for!

Ive been a patient of Dr. Bricio for over a decade and I have found him to be a consummate professional. He is very knowledgeable and trustworthy. Most importantly, Dr. Bricio actually listens to you. It appears he is well respected by his colleagues and knows the best doctor(s) to refer one to if necessary. I highly recommend Dr. Bricio as a first choice for a primary physician, as well as, a cardiologist.

He's the best Doctor I've had in my years living down here for 14 years.I would recommend him.
