Dr. Evans Ehin Amune, MD

During one of my procedures, A very powerful drug (the one in the news tied to deaths) was used for sedation. Afterward, I was extremely difficult to awaken. Staff had to perform forceful chest stimulation—what was described to me as a version of cardiac massage—and I then had to remain there receiving IV hydration for nearly two hours. Whatever the precise medical explanation, it was frightening and left me seriously concerned about how carefully my sedation was administered and monitored. Unfortunately, the office’s handling of my billing has inspired just as little confidence. It is now demanding $591 in 2026 for services performed between May and July of 2024. More than a year ago, the office manager admitted that these extraordinarily late bills resulted from a “glitch” in their own system. I had reached my insurance plan’s maximum out-of-pocket amount in 2024 after major surgery. I have repeatedly asked this office to provide the insurance claim information and documentation… establishing that I legitimately owe this balance. They refuse to return my numerous calls or provide a meaningful explanation, yet they remain remarkably efficient at mailing repeated demands for money. Apparently, this office can administer powerful medication, leave a patient difficult to awaken, lose track of billing for nearly two years, and then completely ignore that patient’s repeated attempts to resolve the matter. I am not refusing to pay a legitimate obligation. I am refusing to blindly pay a two-year-old bill caused by their admitted system failure while they refuse to document the amount or even return a telephone call. The combination of my frightening procedural experience, their administrative incompetence, and their complete lack of accountability is unacceptable. Patients should preserve every medical record, Explanation of Benefits, payment record, and communication involving this office. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering placing either their health or their finances in this practice’s hands.

My mother has been in Dr Amune's care for many years. - more like decades. As Dr Amune's practice has grown my mother has seen less and less of Dr. Amune. It is now to the point where she has not seen him in years. My mother is 93 years old and is having problems managing her medications. We are now using a prescription service that packages up my mother's pills into easy to manage packs. It requires that prescriptions be electronically sent. Dr Amune REFUSES to send an electronic script (which takes 5 minutes) because it requires the he actually visit with the patient. Since he is more interested in volume and money than in the well being of my mother, he will not even see her for 5 minutes every other month! It is shocking how little he cares about a patient that has been with him for over 15 years. Of note - during that time she was also WAY over medicated, to the point where I had to have her tapered off Oxycontin. She did not even know where she was. I was willing to let that go… because my mother liked him so much - that was about 5 years ago. My mother has not even see him in years and he obviously could care less about her or her care. It is shocking how he has become and I highly recommend that you DO NOT get involved with him or his practice. SHAMEFUL!!!

My initial appt. with Dr. Amune was impressive with thorough review of films. Then he prescribed a medication, paying NO ATTENTION to my 'List of Allergies'. When going to Rx, I discovered that the main ingredient in a prescribed medication was Codeine for which I have severe allergic reaction. In calling the administrative staff, they grew highly defensive, antagonistic, rude, mean and nasty. They do 'not' care about suffering patients, demanded that I take the med as prescribed or none. They suggested a 2nd med that is also on my allergy list, insisting that both meds on my allergy list are the only meds they will prescribe. Furthermore, the staff has 'no' respect for patients or for their pain condition, and especially are totally inconsiderat to patients time of having to get to work. In previous injections, friends accompanied me; my friends observed the nasty rudeness and chaos of this practice as well.

I arrived at 9:30am (time I was told to arrive) for my 10:00am appointment. I was taken back to a room at 10:15am and when the nurse was taking her time, I asked how long it will be to see the doctor and was informed that he just went in to do a procedure at 10:30am. Apparently, that procedure was at 9am and he is already behind. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN FOR A DOCTOR TO BE LATE EARLY IN THE MORNING?!?! At 11:15am, I was told that he may be another 30-minutes or more. HOW INCONSIDERATE OF THIS DOCTOR AND THE STAFF!!!! If the doctor is late, inform the patients so they are not wasting their time - I took off of work to see the doctor. Shame on the scheduling department for not booking properly and according to the manager, he is ALWAYS running late (she said because he cares about his patients.....we'll he doesn't care about their time!!!!). If I stayed, I would have been there for 3-hours if not more!!!! I WILL NEVER RESCHEDULE WITH THEM!!!!!

When you make an appointment with a doctor, you expect to see the doctor, not an assistant.

Dr. Amune is a very kindhearted, very knowledgeable physician. He understands that pain patients are individuals and not everything that works for some/one will work for all.

Dr Amune and his staff are wonderful. His knowledge kindness and bedside manner is amazing. My only complaint is getting in to see him is very hard because his appointments fill up. However he is worth.

If you are looking for drugs , this is not your doctor. If you are seeking cure to your pain and get off drugs, dr Amune is your doctor. He took time to find out the reason for my pain and cured it. Thank you doctor

Took me a number of visits to finally realize he had no idea what he was doing. His main concern was making $. He wanted to perform the most expensive procedure possible but couldn't explain what it was or how it would help me. He doesn't listen to patients but rather just waits for his turn to speak. All my questions were left unanswered. I found another specialist and the difference is night and day. Find another doctor!
