Dr. Evelyn M. Horn

This doctor is very dismissive and arrogant.

I have had the privilege of being Dr Horn’s patient for 27 years she is the epitome of professionalism and medical excellence; she is clear and concise and cares deeply for her patients; I am lucky to be in her incomparable first rate care.

Dr Horn and her team members are truly amazing. I would not be alive today if my family did not bring me to her in 2014. The only thing I need to do for her is lose more weight, which has been a lifelong battle for me. Dr. Horn is going to tell you they way it is and she’s going to make anyone with Heart Failure as healthy as they can possibly be. Make sure to take her medical advice and follow through… she is at the cutting edge of technology, all the research and the very best in this specialty !!!

It is ostensible to me that Dr. Evelyn Horn finds great satisfaction in her day-to-day work of enhancing the lives of patients every day. With her trademark smile, sharp wit and exemplary human skills, Dr. Horn took time from her very busy schedule to follow up, communicate updates and answer questions on her own time. Her responsiveness, sensitivity and willingness to actively listen to her patients and put their needs first is unparalleled. It is an honor and pleasure working with Dr. Horn.

She kept me alive until I got a transplant. All the nurses at Cornell thought very highly of her.

Despite the many bad reviews, because, she is the only specialized in pulmonary hypertension, and my cardiologist told me to look for a specialist in my case I decide to ignore all other bad reviews about her and give a shot and try a appointment. They lost the records, I fax again, they cant figure out what to do with new patients, they want to send you back again for different cardiologist, plus my case they have a nerve to tell me after already diagnostics that she only deal with last stage, so here is my question for you that is reading this review: What is the last stage of a person that can not breath!?

As patients, we all place our lives in the hands of doctors. I was taken aback with my experience upon seeing Dr. Horn for my second visit. Initially, I thought and expected that she would ask me some questions regarding my medical records and past health care experiences. However, she quickly attacked me by referring to my past doctors notes. She never bothered to get to know me and my journey as a patient. To say that this doctor is lacking a bedside manner and compassionate is putting it mildly. During my last two appointments, she has stressed me and as a patient who is experiencing heart issues, I do not care to compound them and my heart by continuing to see her. She is a specialist in her field. No one can take that away from her, but she needs to watch the 1991 film titled "The Doctor," starring William Hurt. She needs to understand that the patient who visit her have opinions and their feeling matters. Somehow, when I see Dr. Horn, I always end up feeling like a specimen in a… Petri Dish... to be manipulated as she pleases... Not a good feeling at all and a doctor is supposed to bring relief not stress to their patients.
