Dr. Francis Edward Tenewitz, MD

I am a now a Retired Register Nurse, BSN, MBA, living in Brevard County, FL. In 2003, I was grossly overweight, 245 lbs. I was in early kidney failure and diabetic. I was approved by my insurance Company for Gastric Bypass Surgery. On January 31, 2003, Dr. Tenewitz performed laproscopic gastric bypass surgery on me. He saved my life. Today's date is 2/5/2025. I am alive and have maintain my weight at 115 lbs.I know .as an RN, not all surgeries go well. However for me I probably would not have lived to see our children grow up and now our grandchildren. I have been told by other Medical Doctors that I an a "poster patient"for Gastric Bypass patients". I truly believe that Dr. Tenewitz saved my life.

Check out his malpractice suits before you think about going to this hack. The only good reviews were written by his nurse/wife.

Do not go to this Doctor. My mother was a patient of his in Melbourne, Fl. He performed a gastric bypass on her in 99. She died three days later while this "Surgeon" was on vacation!!!!! She ended up having open heart surgery and the Doctor that performed it said she should have never been approved for this surgery. All he, Dr. Tenewitcz cares about is MONEY!!! He was eventually sued by many people and left Melbourne, Florida or like I always say "He was run out of town." I went to my nephews graduation a couple of years ago and I his last name of one of the graduates. How lucky he is to go to his son's graduation while my mother, who was 50 years old at the time of her death never saw my brother graduate with his masters from University of Florida. She never saw her grandchildren grow up and never met her last grandchild, my daughter. I see he calls himself a surgeon, so I do not know what he is doing but I can tell you this. I wouldn't let him touch my dog much less than… a family member. Look him up. You will see the malpractice suits and the deaths of other patients. He destroyed our family. It has taken me many years to get over the untimely death of my mother. He should not be allowed to be a Surgeon or Doctor.

I am a 18-year post-op gastric bypass patient of Dr. Tennewitz. I was completely satisfied with my medical care and his professionalism. I was in the healthcare industry for 30 years. My pain was more than controlled.

This doctor (I use the term looslely) perfomed a gastric bypass on me 12 1/2 yrs ago with nothing but problems since that day. All problems attributed to the surgery he performed. There was no follow up from him or his staff after the surgery. No phone calls were returned. Think very long and very carefully before allowing this person to oversee any part of your medical care. Read other reviews and history of mal-practice before considering him as a physiican

Needs to go back to school & be taught bedside manners. He acts like he is in a hurry & you bother him just to be in his presense. If you are in pain be perpared to suffer even longer because he will treat you like you are seeking drugs. I realize you work in a very crappy Emergency Room with a lot of drug seekers but not everyone that is in true severe pain if a junkie.

Surgeons are not usually a combination of great bedside manner, AND technically skilled. Dr. T is a perfect combination of both. His knowledge, skill combined with compassion, treating me like a real person, made my day! His nurse is also tops!

Had emergency gallbladder removal at a horrible hospital but Dr. T came in and took good care of me. Great bedside manner and was excellent with answering my questions. Very gentle and thorough. Very consistant with follow up. Highly recommended.

tErrible after care. My mother has had stitches in for 4 weeks after a surgery he performed. Went to an appt. After waiting an hour was told he was in surgery,so was rescheduled for a week later, that means her stitches will be in for 5 weeks. won't return phone calls and no other Dr. will take stitches out because he was her surgeon. Highly disappointed and will be contacting atty. and medical board.

I have been thru a great deal of surgery through out my life. I honestly have to say that this surgeon in one of the best.
