Dr. George E Yared, MD

I want to begin by stating that I respect Dr. Yates and value his clinical care. My concerns are not with him personally, but with the office processes, staff interactions, and inconsistent guidance I have received. I was contacted by the office regarding a laboratory result that was described as serious. After reviewing the result myself, I became understandably concerned and called back to request guidance and an earlier appointment with the physician. During this call, I was repeatedly told that I did not require an appointment for several months, despite the nature of the result. The interaction became argumentative, unprofessional, and ultimately the call was disconnected by staff. This left me without guidance following notification of a serious lab finding. After escalating the issue through corporate channels, I was eventually scheduled and seen by a nurse practitioner. During that visit, I clearly explained that I experience symptomatic low blood sugar and cannot safely fast… late into the morning. I was reassured that I would be able to receive an earlier endoscopy appointment time and was instructed to inform the scheduling nurses of this when contacted. Despite this, my procedure was scheduled for 11:30 AM. When I contacted scheduling to explain that fasting until that time would place me at risk of passing out, I was told that earlier appointments are reserved exclusively for diabetics. I was further instructed to call the morning of the procedure to see if a diabetic patient canceled, and that if no earlier slot became available, I would need to cancel my procedure and would be responsible for a cancellation fee. This placed me in an unsafe and unreasonable position: being required to fast despite a known medical condition, receiving conflicting instructions from providers and staff, and being threatened with financial penalty if I canceled due to an inability to safely comply with the scheduling constraints. With that being said, I am actively in the process of establishing care with a new gastroenterology provider and will no longer be seeking care through Southwell Gastroenterology. Based on this experience, I will also not be referring anyone to this office in the future.

I have been a Gastro patient of Dr. Yared’s for almost 3 years. He and his staff of Angels are the best! They are reassuring and polite every time I have to use their services. I am retired Navy and I appreciate the value of patient support that they provide! I feel safe and secure with them during my procedures! I wouldn’t chose any other place. Dr. Yared and his team are very knowledgeable and explain things from beginning to end! I love and appreciate them all! Bravo Zulu, job well done!

Dr Yared did my colonoscopy on Friday the 13th...I have had several colonoscopys in the past and this was by far THE most pleasant experience I have had. Dr Yared is very good at what he does and I hope he does my next one...

Saw Cynthia Ingram. Waited in exam room over an hour before she came in....she stayed 5 minutes. Was sent to Lab @ 12 noon by NP. Instructions for Lab weren't put in computer until 3 pm.

He is a good doctor
