Dr. Gerard Abreo, MD

Dr Abreo is one most superb physicians I have met. He has excellent bedside manner, efficient and continual communication skills. He is knowledgeable and approachable. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Abreo is responsible for saving my life. We having been using him for years and he has maintained us with no problems. Till last year he identified a 98% occlusion of my aorta on one side. Dr. Abreo had the contacts and relationship to get me in the following day to a surgeon downtown for cleaning out the vein that had a 6 month waiting list. Cannot say enough good things about him and his level of expertise and care.

Simply the best.

Dr Abrio is an outstanding doctor. He has a good personality and does not mind talking to a patient about their health and options and listens to their input.

Dr. Abreo is in the business of making money, NOT saving lives. I have been having heart trouble and made an appointment with him 3 weeks in advance (his 1st available). 2 hours before my appointment time his office called to inform me that I had a "pre-existing clause" on my medical insurance and that the doctor has a policy that he will not see patients with this on their insurance unless they pay unfront for the appointment and any tests, and when the insurance pays the doctor the doctor will then reimburse me for what I paid. These tests run $thousands$... and I needed that before he would even look at me!! I explained that I have had my insurance for a long time and its been great, has paid for every single claim without fail and no other doctor had ever mentioned this "clause" in my benefits before. I can't believe that I waited 3 weeks with a potentially life threatening condition and they waited until the day of my appoitment to tell me that he won't treat me unless I show him… the money first.... I HAVE INSURANCE for Christ's sake. Take yourself to someone who is in the medical field for the right reasons... I sure am.

After speaking with a number of friends and medical professionals, I chose Dr. Abreo as my cardiologist. I have not been disappointed. He diagnosed the problem immediately and my follow-up has been great. The staff and nurses are always courteous and accomodating. He has great bedside manner and if he knows you want to talk, he will take the time. I have since taken my dad to him and that went just as well also. I would recommend him and others in his office.
