My story - four years ago I met with Connecticut Orthopedic Specialists to discuss my back pain. Today I cannot walk or standup without significant pain. I was operated on four times with various failed results. In addition, I have a chronic blood infection which I take an antibiotic twice a day for the remainder of my life due to the operations. This horrendous result has ruined my life. My doctor was Russo and the hospital was mid-state.

I have been seeing orthopedic doctors in this area for 35 years. Dr. Russo is the only doctor I have had a completely positive experience with. He is caring, knowledgeable, and informative. He spent time with me and was totally engaged during the appointment. He validated my concerns and included my input in the options for surgery. Very attentive to my needs.

Dr. Russo treated my daughter who was recruited to a division 1 college athletic program. She had a break along her spine between the discs. Dr. Russo seemed to understand my daughter’s needs holistically. He spent time consulting with me, and then my husband, when I could not answer his questions. This occurred on multiple occasions. Very knowledgeable and giving of his time. He wanted us to understand the situation. I would recommend to all. We were never rushed.

Dr. Russo did what you hope every doc will do - he personally followed up with me weeks after my appointment, to see how I was doing, and to talk about next steps in my treatment. I am so impressed! Every doc should be like this. I have the feeling he genuinely cares about his patients.

This is a doctor who is well versed in not only his areas of specialty, but also has a great command of the ongoing and current research into best practices and outcomes in his specialty area. During my consultation, he was friendly, smart and insightful and he was obviously and genuinely interested in my concerns. He listened carefully and gave understandable feedback. He gave me a treatment plan and I feel confident about my recovery.

Dr. Russo has the best bed-side manner I have seen in many years. He is personable, friendly, and takes the time to explain options in terms that I can understand. He is patient, understanding; and most of all, he listens!
