Dr. Hasan H Sonmezturk, MD

Dr. Sonmezturk is the best not only neurologist but the best doctor I have ever seen. He is a wonderful human being as well. With his delicate and detailed work up he located my seizure focus and after a surgery which removed the small region causing my seizures I have been completely seizure. This happened after 43 years of uncontrolled seizures.

Dr. Sonmezturk, IS THE BEST NEUROLOGIST I’VE HAD. HE ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS THAT I WAS GOING TO ASK HIM. THAT SHOWS ME THAT HE CARES A LOT ABOUT HIS PATIENTS. I’M SO UPSET THAT Dr. TURK WILL NO LONGER BE WORKING AT VANDERBILT MEDICAL UNIVERSITY. I’VE BEEN SEEING HIM EVERY SINCE 2018. NO MATTER WHO THE NEW NEUROLOGIST IS. Dr TURK WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE NEUROLOGIST.

I can honestly say that Dr. Sonmezturk was the Worst Neurologist that I’ve seen in my 58 years experience with neurologists! He was incompetent and gave me a sulfa drug, in which I have a history of allergies to sulfa. He also insisted that I take a Benzo drug which neurologists no longer use for my problem. He wasted over a year of my life on wrong drugs and over medicated, until I went to a much more qualified neurologist! I wish that I had my lost time back that I have wasted with him!!

Has solved my epilepsy problem. It has been very difficult. I became intolerant to previous medicine and had to change. 3 neurologist could not fix the issue. Dr. Sonmezturk did.

I first met Dr Turk when I took my daughter to him when she was having sever headaches after being hit in the head with a golf club.He found that she had pseudo tumor cerbri and began treating her for it. She loved him! He was always concerned and seemed to genuinely care.We had been to several before finding him and they all gave us nothing. I would give him the highest recommendation. <3

My son was diagnosed with epilepsy 3 years ago FYI...epilepsy alone is not a diagnosis. If your current MD can not tell you the type of epilepsy you have and what part of your brain is being impacted with each seizure you have then I beg of you to seek the medical opinion of Dr. Sonmezturk. My son has a wonderful general physician, but we sought out treatment from 3 different nuerologist and all treated my son as this is just something he is going to have to learn to live with "IT" until his general physician said no more your are going to Vanderbilt. This man on the first visit wanted to know every tiny detail and within just over an hour with more compassion than I ever witnessed said to my son I think I can heal you! He has fast tracked my son into every diagnostic test even calling me himself to schedule appointments. I know this DR. loves what he does and he cares so much! My son may be a possible surgical candidate or in the exact words DR. Sonmezturk used " I can change your… life, I am so happy you came to see me!"

Dr, Sonmezturk was the third neurologist I saw, No one could diagnose my condition. I have been given so many diagnoses and drugs for those incorrect diagnoses. Dr. Sonmezturk saved my life. Finally I am on the right medicine and feeling like myself again. I would recommend this doctor for everyone.

This is the most compassionate doctor I have ever met.
