Dr. Herbert Peter Fechter III, MD

Dr. Fechter did an extraordinary job. It was the best experience I have had in any doctor's office, ever. He was compassionate, extremely intelligent, approachable, unhurried, empathetic, and an amazing listener. I left feeling at ease with a great understanding of what was causing my symptoms and a clear treatment plan. He truly embodies patient-centered care. I feel very lucky to have seen him. Not to mention the medical assistants there are top tier as well! I was even able to get an appointment the same day. I cannot say enough good things. If you need your eyes checked, go see him!

Dr. Fechter has been my eye doctor for several years. He has always been very professional and takes the time to explain everything. I had cataract surgery with him last year and he did the lens implants I wanted to give me the best outcome for my vision. He did an awesome job. I have developed a secondary cataract which is common. I've told Dr. Fechter I am in no hurry to get that secondary cataract removed and he has said there is no need hurry and it can be done anytime I decide it is needed. I have since taken my 88 yr old mother to him after she came to live with me. Her surgery was successful and we are very happy with her care.

Dr. Fechter is a fabulous doctor. He has taken the time to walk me through my specific surgery needs. I felt so confident and comfortable with all of my interactions with Dr. Fechter. I am totally satisfied with my surgical outcome and all of my interactions with Doctor Fechter, his office, and his staff.

I had surgery to enlarge tear duct opening to relieve excessive watering of eyes. I am unable to say that this surgery helped any at all. During the followup visit I was told all is well and that he would see me again in 5-7 years when I need cataract surgery. WELL, I don't plan on needing cataract surgery. I think it is wrong to forecast a condition I don't have. This whole experience left me feeling as though they are running an eye surgery factory; with a goal of so many surgeries each day. Very poor service on follow up visit; no attention to whether the surgery was a success. I will seek another doctor even if I do need another surgery. I will never go back to the "eyeguys" surgery center factory or Dr. Fechter.
