Dr. Irene Andrea Nickolakis, MD

Knowing Dr. Irene Nickolakis personally since 1977, she is definitely an excellent physician who personally cares about her patients. She is humble, generous and goes above and beyond. Her father was my calculus teacher. As a health care professional myself, I highly recommend her.

I booked an appt with Dr. Nickolakis, who was recommended by my PCP at Advent Health. I read the online reviews, which were scattered between positive and negative reviews, the negative ones primarily focused on the office/receptionist. I took a chance and set an appt. As a preliminary matter, the location and office area is rundown and was not a good first impression. Then, I walked into the office and the receptionist was indeed rude as other reviews noted. She asked for my license, insurance, and advised there would be a $40 co-pay. I offered my credit card to which she responded they only take cash or check and that she told me this over the phone. Seems like a very important detail and I never recall receiving this info. I don't know what doctor's office doesn't accept credit cards. I asked if they had an ATM close by and the answer was "no" with no offer of alternatives or apology or anything. She only responded with - "Do you want to reschedule?" My advice - don't schedule here.

I have seen Dr nicholakis a few years now and wouldn't trade her for anyone else. She shows compassion and addresses the issues making you safe when you are there. She understands and gives you tools to take home so you have the strength to fight . I live far but she is worth my trips there. I feel comfortable talking to her without feeling intimidated. Best doctor in my opinion !

Disgustingly dirty office, Doctor NOT at all timely. Avoid like the plague.

Called office for appt. as a new patient. person answering the phone was unprofessional and disrespectful. She told my husband that he did not need to come to a psychiatrist due to him being on depression med already, told to go to a therapist instead. After telling her that we need an appointment due to symptoms and sent by PMD to help him with possibly changing medication, receptionist then told us that Drs love to dump there patients on a psychiatrist for them to order meds so that they are not responsible when meds don't work. Told us again to go to a therapist and would not let us make an appointment. Receptionist then hung up on us. We attempted to call back thinking maybe we got disconnected and phone went straight to voicemail 3 separate times. If this is the treatment at the start I question what the physician is like.

Debbie is super rude and uncaring and border line mean. She says VERY negative things to patients that should NEVER be said to someone with depression, panic attacks and anxiety. Working in that field you should know what to say and not say to someone with mental health issues. The doctor doesn't care if you complain about Debbie and her crappy attitude and lack of care for the mental health patients which is CRAZY!! 20 minute appointments and scripts for meds. Lied and said Medicaid is no longer providing private practice doctors after 25 years, but you can find several private practice doctors listed that do take it.

been going to her for 5 years she team caring and I thought she was compassionate boy was I wrong when I try to fill my prescription that she had me on for 5 years she told the pharmacist not to fill it,I called to try to figure out what was going on and secretary debbie was very rude, treated me like a lying drug addicted. I cried for several days because that is how horrible they made me feel, after seeing her every monrh for 5yrs!!

Her ONE office person is RUDE. Extremely rude. She, while starting out lovely, took over my care from another doctor and absolutely RUINED my care. I was doing VERY well managing my illness and suddenly, just based on a mood swing, or a bad day I might have been having, she was RAMPING up my medications. Before I knew it, she had me on TWO antipsychotics, TWO different seizure meds, TWO different depression meds, TWO different anti anxiety meds and a sleep aid. No wonder I was so depressed. I was living like a zombie. I left her practice, begged my primary care for help to wean off all these medications. Today...I am living medication free, not a SINGLE pill for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder or, as she told me, the possibility of schizophrenia. WHAT?? I am completely managed by cognitive talk therapy, change in thinking, changes in DOING. She had me so doped up I couldn't even focus. Now I have my life back, thanks to my primary care doctor and NO thanks to… her.

I would NEVER recommend her to anyone. All she cares about it money. She is not a warm, caring person. Another problem was her fee. She would NOT accept my insurance amount and so I was "self pay." She is crazy!!! The insurance company could not believe she would not agree. I am so grateful I found someone who is friendly, loves what she is doing and is helping me with my underlying problem. Dr. Nickolakis never tried anything diffent. Just kept writing scripts for the same stuff. A few years ago she put me on a medication and I told her I did not feel well. She bumped up the dosage and them my hands started to tremor. She is a JERK in my opinion. STAY AWAY FROM HER.

Very kind and helpul office staff. The doctor was even better. She actually listened to my concerns and issues. I didnt have much luck in the past but Dr. Nickolakis really helped me and feeling 100 percent better. She is an excetllent doctor who is very knowledgable
