The Dr. repaired my mitral heart valve which kept me from having to be on blood thinner. He is kind, patient, articulate, and a fabulous surgeon.

Dr. James Livesay is an excellent cardiothoracic surgeon and save lives. He performed open heart surgery on my husband following a massive heart attack. He and all of the other healthcare workers at Baylor St. Lukes hospital provided excellent care for my husband when he was critical pre-surgery and post surgery. My husband is recovering well at this time. Dr. Livesay is an amazing and caring physician. He came to see my husband each day while in the hospital. He listens to your concerns and explains everything well. He is Excellent. He is simply the BEST.

I have never come across a Dr. as caring and good as Dr. Livesay. When I say he saved my life I’m not exaggerating, he literally saved my life!! I had a splenic artery aneurysm that was huge and needed surgery immediately but I didn’t have insurance. Dr. Livesay went to bat for me with the hospital, he called me personally numerous times to check status of hospital response and scheduling - he didn’t have his nurse call or his office manager, etc...HE called me and stayed on top of the situation and got the hospital to lower their requirements for me to be admitted for this surgery. I had had numerous Dr’s tell me there would be no way to save my spleen but that that was the least of my worries. Dr. Livesay not only removed the aneurysm and repaired the artery, he saved the majority of my spleen as well. There are no words in the English language to thank this man or to describe his caring, concern and complete professionalism. I have recommended him to everyone I know and have told… everyone I can what he did for me. There is not a Dr anywhere that I would recommend more than Dr Livesay.

Dr. Livesay saved my father's life. Its a really long story but the ultimate outcome was very positive. Dr. Livesay is an amazing Dr. If you need heart surgery, look no further.

Dr. Livesay is very good at what he does, 21 years and i am still going strong.

prior to surgery all the family was worried about the procedure. Dr. Livesay came in an reassured us that everything was going to be fine. he told us that a nurse would come in an talk to us every 30 minutes of the surgery to give us the status of the surgery. he was self confident and reasurring for all of us.

My wife was diagnosed with constrictive pericarditis. The surgery to alleviate this condition requires removal of the protective membrane (pericardium) from around the heart was described by my wife's personal physicians as being technically difficult and extremely demanding on the patient, physically and emotionally. Prior to surgery Dr. Livesay clearly explained the procedure and answered all our questions in a very congenial and reassuring manner. Post-surgery Dr. Livesay was very informative about the details of the operation, my wife's condition, and her prognosis, which he described as very good.
